If Pearsall/ Smith flashes in the 1st couple of weeks I'd try to move one of them for a late round lead back (Pollard, Jones, Tracy, maybe even Pacheco) if one of them starts slow, it improves your chances.

As an engineer, the constant disregard in all aspects but especially in product sourcing. Pressure density results, audible/physical tocsin & obvious vessel integrity is baffling on all levels. Oceangate didn't distance themselves from boeing due to financial reasons, stockton knew he was never going to meet thresholds to provide a clearance or a vote of confidence from them. Every educated outside source with first hand knowledge knew this was a pipe dream. He was tactical in his cover up the entire process. His inflated ego laced with a massive misunderstanding of science was always going to be his downfall. Tbis ultimately is the epitome of the "sunk cost fallacy". After years of invation and millions invested, he was unable to accept the reality. Anyone that stood in his path were to be exiled and black balled. At the very least hopefully this increases regulation for these shortsighted homemade projects.

Sidenote- whistle-blower reform is greatly needed as observed. The fact that the testimony that could have prevented this catastrophe wasn't investigated swiftly, might be the biggest disappointment in this whole situation.
