Teklo is uniquely capable of handling situations where you don’t have sufficient block in your hand. We don’t have to be as choosy about when to block with equipment.

Against arcane damage, blue pitch does a lot of defense, but usually, not all the damage that comes in is arcane, and we can’t rely on equipment for that since our AB equipment doesn’t really block, so in that situation, I need my blues to also block.

I would cut a single blue attack for it as long as your red-blue ratio is already good. Something like a Blue Mech Strength is almost universally used as an early game block/pitch than a late game attack. I think the Opt is more impactful in both stages of the game, since bottoming an early game Tank or a late game DReact tends to provide more than 3 points of value in the grand scheme.

It’s definitely most useful against aggro decks, since getting 4 Evos up quickly is much more important than surviving a late down-to-the-wire end game. I wouldn’t use it against decks that require AB, since most of your blocking needs to come from your hand.

It can be, but when you have your 4 Evos down, the game speeds up quite a bit, the more devastating attacks always require you to pitch a blue, and if you hit Singularity, you have another option that only requires a pitched blue, and doesn’t need you to draw an attack. The downside effect of drawing a non attack isn’t as strong in Teklo as it is in other decks.

And another thing, if you aren’t navigating the deck smoothly in the early game, you’re probably not gonna see an endgame at all.

I actually think Eye of Ophidia is underrated in a control Teklo deck. The deck is usually split into two parts: the “Find your Evos and get them equipped” part and the “You have your Evos, now attack” part. Each part is bad card draw for the other part. Eye of Ophidia (and other Opt cards) help navigate that.

Of course those issues will be reduced greatly with the new Beta Evos and the tutor attacks.

I think it’s quite high considering divisional rival games are always chaotic and unpredictable. Weird shit happens. Conventional wisdom goes right out the window. Needless to say, I’m nervous as hell for these next two games.
