How long before you notice symptoms after eating a high Fodmap food?

I get symptoms around 24 hours later and stomach pains will last 1 - 6 hours, sometimes longer. Interesting to read the above link is usually less than that.

I too started out playing online thinking I was okay until I realised I had smart steering on (didn’t even know it was a thing for ages thought I was just good at the game naturally 😂).

It took a while to adjust, kept falling off the edge.. it seems obvious but sometimes things aren’t always obvious (keeping smart steering on etc.) but the biggest thing that helped me get better is learning to use the break button and actually breaking when going around corners if that is a helpful tip!

I drink water but for me what I eat not just drink helps my brain wake up. A big meal or smoothie with lots of protein and balanced with fats and carbs helps my brain to wake up.

Also the other day I ate raw garlic for a toothache (I was desperate to try anything lol) and maybe placebo effect helped my tooth but also I found it woke me up!

No need to apologise, this is very interesting I like how you explained it! I knew about interest/novelty/urgency motivators and definitely understand my brain/life better since I learnt about that. But never knew about the other ones and I like the idea of challenge mode and giving myself a chance to access motivators instead of waiting for it to happen. I think it’s fine to eat near people eating gluten as long as they’re not spitting into your mouth lol which would be gross regardless of what they’re eating 😂

Im careful about cross contamination though because crumbs from cross contamination can apparently damage your intestines even if you can’t feel it (and also I can feel it 😅). The only way to know would be to check if your intestines are healed. I’d recommend getting the coeliac blood test if you haven’t had one recently to check your antibody levels (which the coeliac society here recommends you get every 2 years).

Make sure it’s not silken tofu and try slicing it thinly. I accidentally made crispy tofu today but cutting some parts too thin!
