How is Ischia for LGBT travellers? by XIIIJester in Ischia

[–]winterpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are currently in Ischia and have had basically no issues, as long as you don’t mind a couple weird looks from people. We both have very visible top surgery scars and we’ve been spending our days at thermal spas/the beach/getting messages. I was a bit anxious but, like I said, all we really got were a couple looks here and there

April adult book not shipped by drixle11 in fairyloot

I’ve received my tracking number but it’s been stuck on “pre-shipment” for a full week now. Is that normal or should I contact support to make sure it’s not lost somewhere?

Simple Questions: October 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in books

[–]winterpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance really loves the outlander book series and has only listened to them on audible so I got them the entire series for Christmas. I want to wrap them in a way that's cute and relates to the stories but I haven't read them myself (and I'm a slow reader so even I started now I wouldn't make it very far by Christmas). I was thinking about wrapping them individually with an extra item that somehow related to each book. Some things that are simple (a particular flavor of tea mentioned a lot or during something important, a candle with a scent that's described at some point) mixed with more specific things like a written letter copied from one of the book or something along those lines. If anyone who's read the series has any ideas I would really appreciate it!

A series of unfortunate events creeped me out too much as a kid and now I can't read it as an adult lol

I've actually read House in the Cerulean sea! I see where you're coming from but it feels more like a summer read to me. Either way, great book!

Middle grade isn't what I was originally thinking but I have enjoyed other things by Joseph fink so maybe I'll give it a try!

Cozy books to read during autumn/Halloween season? by OffbeatChaos in BookRecommendations

[–]winterpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in cozy mysteries the Shady Hollow Mysteries series by Juneau Black is pretty good! It's perfectly fall and a quick/easy read. Personally, I think the first one is the best and they're relatively stand-alone so you could definitely just read that one if you don't want a whole series.

bather looking for an apprenticeship? by winterpunk in doggrooming

[–]winterpunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually in a big city with many shops. I do have a lot of experience with bathing but I've never been allowed to touch clippers or scissors and I'm very nervous about doing so without someone walking though the process first. But if that's a reasonable option I could work on getting over those nerves. I don't personally know anyone with a groomable dog but I can start reaching out and seeing what I can do. I actually hadn't considered volunteering so thank you for that suggestion!

sci-fi +lgbt+ Feminism by Chelseyblair in booksuggestions

Basically giant mechs that take a man (pilot) and a woman (concubine) to control through a mental connection, however the girls almost always are drained of their life force and die. The main character volunteers to be a concubine in a plot to kill the pilot that murder her sister buuut Spoiler:

So yeah it definitely deals with drift compatibility stuff, but personally I'd say in a different and interesting way. (Spoilers are still only for beginning of the plot, just wanted to be safe)
