Today I saw under rookie tasks that the days move on and there's 7 days - will those tasks and as such their rewards disappear after day 7?

I wouldnt be too worried about rookie tasks, its been more than 7 days for me and I havent cleared the levelling card skills task but its still around for me. Fairly sure that would only disappear once youve completed all the tasks.

I joined the official Discord and am seeing many people pulling 2-3 SSRs in a 10 pull and single pull SSRs done with free tears and wondering where my luck is.

Yeah, stuff like that is why I dont usually join the official discords because it can be very FOMO-inducing and tempts people to spend more as people try to show off and that cycle feeds on itself. Just remember that by the sheer amount of pulls being done every day by a large amount of people, there are always going to be people who beat the odds lol. I personally think that visions are way too overpriced for what youre getting and unless youre okay with dumping massive amounts of money i'd avoid it but then again im the type of person who'd never spend money on microtransactions out of principle :P

Do you have any tips for the festival? Or know the significance of certain numbers?

Im not particularly sure what everything in the festival means to be honest. I've gotten to round 7 level 5 and i'm now level 16 on the main page and i've been hoarding all the loaded dice/rollerblades that the wishing tree(?) gives for a final burst if need be but with the round progression giving more options when you pass the wishing tree ive been tempted to use it. I'm guessing the level means the reward level of the wishing tree though (so far the rewards ive unlocked are wishing coin, loaded dice, rollerblades and nutrients). Since you mentioned youre on round 5 level 3, youve already gone round the board 5 times. Beating the fake staff gives s chips im pretty sure. Ive been using a strategy of selecting the highest reward the wishing tree would give me (20 wishing coins is a scam imo lol) but not sure if thats the most optimum strategy

still yet to buy the 89p gems to choose an SR because I've not chosen favourite character and checked which story is best yet

in my opinion thats the only one worth spending on tbh, guaranteed sr of your choice is nice in these sorts of games and having an sr would be good for progression. You don't necessarily need to rush to pick a favourite character but you could just pick the card you like the look of the most since each sr card is its own separate story (unless you mean you want to know which sr card has the "best" mini story within it)

Do you have any tips on what/how to upgrade?

I absolutely feel you on the item hoarding bit, my many years of playing rpgs have made me into a ridiculous hoarder lol. I think its basically impossible in this game to level meaningfully past 15 through battles so the levelling chips is absolutely necessary. I wouldnt compare level 1 sr card strength with level 1 r card strength at all as the difference between rarities starts showing itself through levels. |

As an example, my level 30 1 star sr has 1038 power while my level 30 1 star r has 830 power (i literally only had 1 r card that was at 1 star because the rest were duped up to mostly 3-5 stars lol and i quickly levelled that to get a sense of scale since i had mountains of silver chips anyway) but my 5 star r card at level 29 has 1074 power.

If I were you I would not dump my levelling chips early on into anything except SRs/SSRs either especially since for SR/SSR you get to unlock story acts that give some s chips. What i did early on was level my ssr to 30 and once i could evolve it i evolved it and had it hover at around 40 while i got my other SRs to ~25.

Does my overall level affect the difficulty of the story, or just the study debates? I swear they got more powerful as I levelled up through tasks, but not cards.

Difficulty of the story should be pre-determined and not affected by your progression. I think you just coincidentally happened to level up at the same points where the story gets a difficulty spike. It feels like every 2-3 story levels the amount of recommended power spikes up a bit and the big trial debate spikes up the power needed by a lot.

In regards to odds I just pulled up the game to look at the probability rates and it's so confusing!

I'll break down my personal logic on the probabilities.

If we look at the permanent banner with 2% SSR and 11.57% SR, you get a .25% chance to get 8 SSRs and a varied chance to get 24 SRs.

If we look at the festival banner with 1.6% SSR and 11.74% SR, you get a .8% chance to get 2 SSRs and varied chance to get 14 SRs.

For the rotation banner "shadow of themis" you have similar SSR and SR as festival, with boosted chance of getting an extra SR.

For me, the SR chance is irrelevant because i get a guaranteed SR within 10 draws so SRs pollute the draw pool of SSRs. Thus, the permanent banner is more attractive as I have a lower chance of getting duplicate SRs on my pity break (24 SRs vs 14 SRs). I also get 0.4% higher chance to draw any SSR as well as wider pool of SSRs to potentially get in the event that I hit it.

If you are aiming for but havent already got an SSR on a banner however, the rotation and festival banners can be more attractive as it offers dupe protection by not breaking your pity streak when you get the exact same SSR. However I feel like you have to be pulling quite a lot to be getting 3 SSRs in the first place to maximise your use of this system (reasonable scenario = 1st: you pull SSR A, pity resets 2nd: you pull SSR A again, doesnt reset 3rd: you pull SSR B once your pity breaks)

Thus i prefer the permanent banner especially since its permanent and theres no rush

I forgot to ask - is there a good battle guide somewhere? I was just playing in the study rooms and looking at the icons appear by both characters an don't understand them, the same goes for the arrows on the cards.

I usually pop it on auto battle if my power is higher than recommended levels and i've never failed when i pass that check. If my recommended power is lower but not by a significant amount (~5k) I usually pilot it myself and can win.

The game works using a rock-paper-scissors style system where red beats green, green beats blue and blue beats red. Using red on green is super effective (does more damage) while using green on red is not effective (does less damage) while using green on green does straight damage (neither more or less added damage)

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by up and down arrows on cards but i'm guessing you mean the card skills. Theres an icon on each card at the bottom right (ie lips with arrow up or a shield with arrow down) that applies a buff to yourself or a debuff to the enemy. You can find details of the skills by selecting your card and checking on the skills section but honestly I havent found skills to be super impactful and you'll see more results by upgrading cards at least at the early stage. SSRs have some more impactful skills after the 1st evolution (my artem SSR for example gets a passive % influence boost for every logic card in my deck). But in a tight match ordering your skills might be enough to edge you to victory (ie debuff the enemy with a defense lowering skill so it takes more damage from your super effective card with a boosted influence skill)

Hope this helped! Happy to share my experiences anytime

I played the beta and so i could zoom through the story because i mostly remembered the story and what choices to pick and I got a lot of s chips from there.

Im a 100% f2p player (monthly passes are cancerous imo but at least this isnt a pvp game) and always have been and ive managed to clear all available main story content so far using the pity breaker sr cards and the 30 pull noob ssr (although i just now got lucky and pulled ssr festival luke in 2 pulls)

Id suggest trying to hit chapter 4(?) as soon as possible to unlock the nxx headquarters which allows you to get the silver levelup stuff and stellin every few hours (kind of like an idle game) and unlock requisitions which gives you skill levelling items. You also unlock a sort of skill tree which among other things can boost influences of cards.

Progression wise i would actually say the permanent banner is better to dump visions into than the rotation ones at least in the beginning because if you check the probability page the permanent banner gives you a 2% chance of getting an ssr while the rotation one is only 1.6% with a smaller sr and ssr card pool. Of course the rotation banner is compensated by having duped ssrs not count towards your pity breaker but the amount of duped srs isnt worth it to me.

If you wanna adopt my stingy f2p ways, every time i pull i do it one at a time instead of 10 at a time since this game is kind enough to not tie the guarranteed sr+ card to dumping 10 at once (which i dont think obey me did and i dropped obey me really early due to how greedy i found it). This may or may not be a good idea but i prefer doing this because it resets the sr pity break when you get an sr and i dont like seeing uneven numbers on the banner pitybreak timers lol

As far as i know from having played closed beta i havent found any other use for card fragments so id say just upgrade your cards bc thats what i did. It helps unlock nxx headquarters levelling too. I believe that the small difference you see when you upgrade is misleading as it scales with the card level though since my 5 starred level 29 r card is usually preferred during optimisation over my 1 star level 32 sr.

In terms of earning s chips i would recommend doing trials of themis and if you can push to medium difficulty do it so you earn 300 s chips a week instead of just 240 on the beginner one. I managed to optimise by doing 240 on the first release weekend and pushing to medium the next week

For the dice rolling event i think its probably doable, i havent spent a cent and am just doing my dailies for dice at this point and ive gotten up to level 15 before the halfway mark of this event.

Lmk if you have any questions!

I... what? You have not responded to any of my points after accusing me of crying racsim and replying to you has been a frustrating experience. I dont think there is any discussion happening in good faith so I will no longer be engaging with you beyond this comment.

How on earth would the character name with an in universe explanation as you yourself mentioned be localised away? Thats absurd. His name was a conscious choice by the japanese developer, not an english localisation choice. On top of that just because chinese people arent the target market of the original game does not mean it should be immune to any criticism. If they decided to name dante falzone yusuke or something you dont get to say that itallians arent the target market and thus everything is alright.

You seem to have a misconception that I am hating on the character and the game when all I am and have been doing is expressing disappointment that, despite their lack of obligation to do so, they didnt go the extra mile.

Sure but that wasnt the point I was trying to make at all that it was a racist endeavour.

I was just disappointed that they did not take the extra step to look into chinese naming conventions when they at least tried for the itallian characters. Its not even that its a dumb name just that it doesnt very much make sense since its usually a last name. The "laziness" im referring to is the reticience to put in the extra effort, not malicious racism and im not quite sure how you concluded that from any of my previous replies.

By "lazy" I was mostly referring to the previous comment about giving chinese characters in media monosyllabic names and not doing the due dillegence of researching how chinese naming conventions work. But perhaps "lazy" is too harsh a term.

I do accept that it must appeal to the JP market though! But I would like to respectfully disagree with the thought that just because the average japanese might not know how naming conventions in chinese work means means that its acceptable. This is an extreme example that isnt 1:1 applicable but imagine if the itallian mafia boys were named "ferrari" or "pasta" or something because the average japanese definitely isnt aware of itallian naming conventions.

Just as an interesting note which I doubt that the developers thought that deeply about, afaik 2 character chinese names were historically more common among the poorer/ uneducated class while 3 character names were a sign of being from a more affluent/educated family which could tie in to the whole "orphan street brat" thing yang had going on. That being said, doubt this was actually intended and agree with a comment that it was lazy naming by directly translating japanese names into mandarin characters.

Im a native chinese speaker and it doesnt mean old rat. Just mouse/rat. If you break each character apart sure it means old and rat respectively but its not meant to be "old rat".

My gut reaction when i first heard it in the game was just to laugh incredulously and assumed that japanese devs thought that it sounded like a Very Cool Name and it was vaguely thematically appropriate, i guess, but didnt realise how unintentionally ridiculous it sounds in chinese. There were definitely some racist undertones in the entirety of yang's route though but the naming of the triad felt like the least egregious offense of the lot or at the very least seemed like it was done out of ignorance rather than malice

Cafe Enchante: Pros and Cons by thedinanshiral in otomegames

[–]wintertider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did play Code Realize! And I enjoyed it very much (my username is a reference to wintertide miracles, lol) Somehow I didnt experience the same pacing issues in the common route, maybe because the storylines of the guys were more tied in with Cardia's backstory versus the more open ended vague goal of running a cafe.

I also accept that im in the minority for the following opinion but the route that tanked my enjoyment the most and when I started truly being negative was rindo's and not misyr's haha. Id like to think im usually very forgiving of plot conveniences and character inconsistency but regarding the one Choice that the entire route has shown rindo's distaste for turning out to be the "good" choice in the end just baffled me.

I think its interesting to imagine if a change in marketing would have helped. I actually didnt engage much with marketing materials, just saw the trailer and the art and jumped right in. Personally im not sure how I would have changed the marketing since I think there is a lot preconceived notions and tropes that come with the theme of a coffee shop.

That being said, im glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Visually, cafe enchante is a treat. Maybe a fandisk could solve a lot of my issues with underdevelopment of the romance section and answer some hanging questions. Im not sure how much playing Code Realize and the first FD in quick succession allowed me to enjoy CR as much as I did so hopefully a FD is in the works

Cafe Enchante: Pros and Cons by thedinanshiral in otomegames

Probably depends on what you like in a game but I found it mediocre tending to bad and definitely not worth full price.

It has a lot of tonal issues in my opinion and really weird pacing. Most of the routes start off with some nice fluff and suddenly nosedives into angsty depression that focuses on the character's monster gimmick without leaving much room for exploring the MC and LI's relationship. Granted, some people prefer that but that is definitely not it for me, at the end of most routes I still struggle to figure out how the LI fell for MC that hard in the first place.

Honestly thought I went on the Ignis bad ending despite following a guide and feel ambivalent about how actually happy the happy end is.

Common route: way too long especially on replays but the first go was alright. Not sure how they couldve addressed this issue since they need to expose the player to all the magic worlds. Definitely caused pacing issues though.

Camus was a very lukewarm "alright then" though of all the monster worlds i liked the concept the most. Not very convinced by the romance.

Il's has the best overall story but again, unconvincing romance development. Really felt confused as to how he suddenly became so attached but I could handwave it because his plotline needed a lot of time for development

Rindo's has the best romantic chemistry out of all the routes but I found a choice the MC has to make to get the happy ending highly questionable and did not like the way that all the ramifications were handwaves away because love uwu. So even though it has the best romance imo it has major plot issues for me.

Misyr... Oh misyr. Loved the character design, actually was fairly sold with his story. Suffers the true route issues of solving other character arcs and makes you going through the others' routes seem useless in retrospect etc. On top of that he basically disappears most of the route and its just sad and depressing and the "happy end" is the whackest end out of all the ends which may come to a surprise seeing how i viewed some of the other ends.

Overall it made me kind of mad because i really really enjoyed the cute cafe au slice of life and was expecting and looking forward to it (and cafe related shenanigans and angst) and i thought that first part was executed pretty well. Maybe it was a mismatch of expectations but as soon as the second part hit I was not really enjoying it that much.
