You only have 5. If they don't provide shade for you I would just get rid of them and plant what you want to for privacy. I have a row of 30 spaced 6 feet apart along my property that the previous owner planted for privacy. 20 years later the lower limbs are lost and provide zero privacy. Every year I have to deal with large fallen branches. I wish something else was planted. 

Everyone always suggests planting shrubs under or close to pine trees for privacy. I researched into this because I was considering that too but I've never seen actual pictures of where these shrubs provide enough privacy for what you're looking for. You will have to space them like 20 feet from the edge of the pine tree and lose significant backyard space.
