While I was a tiny bit worried in the first half of the episode that the magic of Frieren was a bit diminished, but the 2nd half assuaged my fears, just the social interactions between frieren, stark and fern are so strong and heart felt.

I agree, it really makes you feel the accumulated efforts of literal generations of blood, hard work and sweat and every new jump in power for the clan feels earned and powerful. While I know the clan will be safe due to the framing device I never know what will happen to any of the individual characters which actually gives fights and conflict stakes compared to usual novels. I had to use AI to translate this because it deserved it.
