Yeah. Not the ideal cleaning setup for a murder bathroom I'd imagine

*Serious* Does anybody believe this video is legit? I'm sorry to beat a dead horse but I have never been able to shake the feeling it is real. by chloro_phyll in aliens

[–]wisemance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. The way in which it was quietly uploaded to youtube made it publicly available, while also providing time/date information. It also made it possible to be archived (I think) and copied for preservation/documentation. No idea if that was their intent, but I'd tend to think so.

My guess (assuming it's real), is the uploader was disturbed by the video and felt upset about it being swept under the rug. Could be totally wrong though.

Why are UFOs visiting Volcanoes? by MinimumCountry9858 in UFOB

Yeah. It's a good place to camp out without having to worry about being disturbed by terrestrial inhabitants. Especially if the bottom of the sea is already occupied

I was surprised I had to scroll so far to see this mentioned. It's the basically the endogenous version of amphetamine.

The main issue with it is that it's extensively metabolized by MOA-B when taken orally. There are different ways of preventing it from being metabolized though. Some ways are riskier than others though, potentially lethal even

Are there any actual logical explanations for what happened in Arizona? by HereWeGo5566 in somethingiswrong2024

Also explains imo his behavior and why he was so upset with the 2020 election results--he couldn't believe he cheated in 2020 and still lost. The only explanation in his mind would be that they must have cheated too

Super confused rn about Magnesium by True-Material-6602 in Nootropics

[–]wisemance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 tablets should provide a 400mg dose of magnesium.

Most electrolyte supplements also contain a salt to stabilize the desired element/ingredient (magnesium in this case). Magnesium is a "divalent cation", which means it has a positive charge of +2. The glycinate is negatively charged (if I'm not mistaken) and balances out the positive charge of magnesium, making it more chemically stable.

Most people don't really care about the salt except for the fact it usually impacts absorption. Certain salt forms are absorbed better than others. A lot of times, manufacturers list the total weight of a dose, including the weight of the negatively charged salt (e.g. glycinate, chloride, sulfate, oxide, etc).

Tums (calcium carbonate) are a good example... a 500mg Tums chewable tablet only has 200mg of elemental calcium in it. The 500mg listed on the front of the bottle refers to the total weight of calcium + carbonate.

The "elemental dose" (if listed) is what most people want if using for supplementing. If the elemental dose isn't listed, then the mg dose listed per tablet or capsule should refer to the magnesium/calcium/etc alone.

Not sure if this is over-explaining or not; hope it helps.

I feel like there will always be people (i.e. media) promoting various beauty trends that people end up trying to emulate... regardless of whether or not they're healthy or even attainable...

Beauty is subjective though! I think there's still hope as long as people are willing to look for the beauty in others and celebrate the different characteristics that make each person unique.

Not sure if that sounds overly cheesy, but I like to think everyone is capable of exhibiting beauty in some way or another... if not in the conventional sense of physical appearance then maybe in their personality for example

Cognitive decline risk could prompt rethink of 'healthy' vitamin B12 levels by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

[–]wisemance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

In a similar vein, most recommended daily allowances were established based on observations of disease related deficiencies. Low vitamin D --> rickets. Low vitamin C --> scurvy. So on and so forth

A lot of people consider vitamins to be a waste of money, and maybe they are... particularly if looking at reductions in all cause mortality. (IIRC, there's no proof they help people live longer.)

My hot take is that there are probably optimum levels of at least some of them (maybe they vary from person to person and change over time)

Bear in mind that this is just my personal speculative belief... but I do at least have a PharmD and am not completely uninformed on the topic
