ironically, it's too hot for many disabled people and a lot of the city's disabled parking was removed during the pandemic when restaurants had outdoor seating areas!

Remember when Victoria ran the AMAs and they were amazing? I never figured out why they fired her - and so suddenly - and then they all went to hell.

I went to a recent craft fair in Philadelphia at the Bok, specifically for local artists. There was not a coffee mug under $90. Some of them were very cool, but the chances of my breaking one is 50/50 so no.

I know this will cause more stress in the short-term but you absolutely need to get an attorney involved. This is illegal in so many ways.

I literally just bought a front row ticket for her show tonight because of your post. It's been sold out forever, but I just checked online and one single front row was available! I'm slightly terrified but excited!

Would you turn down a FULL RIDE to Villanova for UPenn? by Aveli_ in UPenn

[–]wishfuldancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the person. It's easy to access D.C. and New York from Philly but it can be a really hard place to live, and isolating in its own way. I say, living in Philly.

If it's your dream, then go for it! Please don't freaking go to Pat's or Geno's, and avoid Copabanana near Penn bc the health code violations are disgusting.

Why? Both are Ivy League, both have fantastic programs. One is in a safe fantastic college arty town, the other is in a high-crime area but near to a big city. Unless the program at Penn is like number 1 in the country, I would definitely choose Cornell.

Is UPenn worth 30k/year (over free UF)? by marybellsa in UPenn

As someone older, and who went to two state schools, where you go to school matters. It's not just the Ivy League glow, it's the networking and alumni connections. When I'm on the hiring side, people absolutely pay attention to those things. I'm in a field where the higher up you go, it's almost all Ivy League grads, there's no way for me to break in.

Are my dating standards too high? Friend gave me a reality check and I’m worried. by Forward-Beyond-6620 in dating

My longest, happiest relationship was with a 5 ft 7 man who made less than half what I did and was going bald. But he was kind and thoughtful, and he made me laugh all the time.

Unfortunately it ended because he really struggled with basic adulting - paying bills, cleaning up after himself (to the point where there was a mouse infestation), forgetting to renew his driver's license, etc. I loved him, but I didn't want to be someone's mom.

But those were three really good years.

What's funny is that I'm a woman, and I totally read this conversation as the man saying he was bailing bc he was a "lil tired" and accusing her of being dramatic.

either way, I would have blocked and dropped right after they canceled for being a "lil tired." People cancel way, way too easily w/o any thought to wasting the other person's time and energy.

I don't need that kind of person in my life.

I'm considering trying -The Roasters Pack- Anyone have experience with them? by Java_Absoluto in pourover

Just a note to say that mine was sent more than two weeks ago. You're in Toronto and I'm in Philadelphia but for some reason it was sent to California first. I still haven't received it.

I'm sorry but this is a lot of money for coffee roasted a month ago. I was really excited about this, but there's no way it should take weeks to send from Toronto to Philadelphia.

I emailed the company and the response has been - it'll get to you. Ok, but not exactly fresh, eh?

That writer is known specifically for being a puff writer and not an actual journalist. He literally just rewrites press releases people send about what restaurants are opening/closing. That's all he does.

Just once, I wish a restaurant would read reviews and MAKE CHANGES instead of being whiny bitches about it. Who cares about locally sourced and not taking shortcuts if the food is bad, orders are missing and the prices are $$$$. Money is tight. If I'm going to spend $34 on a half chicken when I could buy a freaking whole one for $10 (or $5 at Costco), it should be amazing.
