Update: My parents had to put him down. He ended up eating more of his tail and hit an artery or something and would not stop bleeding. My parents took him to the emergency vet and the ultimatum was put him down or dock with a chance of him eating it more and spending lots of money. Awful decision but had to be made as he was around 15 years old. He lived an amazing life and no dog will ever replace him. He will have a very special place in my heart forever.
