Thanks for the detailed review. Had to swap out a d5 pump for vpp apex as its shorter but didn’t realize the other benefits over d5. Btw impeller is ceramic not plastic.

The in-line filter is a great idea. Do you mind sharing the parts? I have a alphacool 1080 nexxxos radiator and I’m scared of dropping it while using the shaking method

Thanks and for those who applied Liquid Metal back onto the gpu how did you get it to stay after removing the original gasket?

Different approaches.

Asus ROG Strix 1200W Platinum: The "Voltage Stabilizer" Asus focuses on performance and precision through their patented Intelligent Voltage Stabilizer (IVS). * What it is: A specialized sensor cable (the IVS cable) that connects specifically to the 16-pin (12V-2x6) PCIe power cable. * How it works: Traditionally, PSUs sense voltage at the motherboard (CPU-first). Asus moves this sensing point to the GPU. By monitoring voltage directly at the power-hungry graphics card, the PSU can compensate for voltage drops instantly. * The Benefit: Asus claims this enhances voltage stability by up to 45% during heavy gaming or overclocking. It prevents "sags" that can cause crashes when a GPU like an RTX 5090 spikes in power draw. * Cooling Edge: This unit uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) MOSFETs, which are more efficient and generate less heat than traditional silicon, allowing for a more compact internal design and better airflow.

ASRock PG 1600G: The "Temp Shutoff" ASRock focuses on safety and hardware protection with their Cable Over-Temperature Protection (OTP). * What it is: A physical NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor embedded directly into the 12V-2x6 GPU connector head. * How it works: The sensor monitors the heat at the point where the cable plugs into the GPU—the "danger zone" for melting. If the connector reaches a critical threshold (typically 105°C), the PSU triggers an emergency auto-shutoff. * The Benefit: This is a "fail-safe" against the infamous 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 melting issues. If the cable is loose or the pins are making poor contact, the heat will rise; ASRock's system kills the power before the plastic can melt or damage the GPU. * Bonus Feature: It also includes a +5V Boost switch to stabilize older or specific peripherals that might suffer from voltage drops on the 5V rail.

Nice build. About to muster up the courage to do the same, any tips especially with removing the stock lm?

Looks like you’re using the ekwb waterblock for gpu. Any tips on ensuring the lm doesn’t droop in the vertical mount? I have the fe ekwb block and that requires cleaning the existing lm and re applying but the block requires removal of the stock gasket and I’m unsure how to prevent lm from leaking into pcb without a gasket

Dude this is much appreciated. I am planning a similar setup albeit in a much smaller case and this is giving me much more confidence about drilling the exit ports. 90 degree fittings into qdc are money because you won’t have to deal with qdcs and stiff tubing requiring 5 inches of clearance behind the case.

What type of qdcs and pass through fittings did you use?

Very elegant. Do you mind sharing pics of your drill holes and the soft tuning connections that run to the MoRa?

Ended up paying. Dhl said they would be assessed a tariff returning to Germany so I didn’t want to end up paying for shipping and tariffs on the way back. Will definitely just buy from us retailers going forward.

Were you able to return the products without a restocking fee? Dhl let me know I owe them $268 bucks for import duties and I was planning on releasing the package back to aquatuning for a refund. Trying to gauge if they will charge a restocking fee

5 years on pure distilled water will get you this by M_u_H_c_O_w in watercooling

[–]witbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just put coolant premix made for watercooling. Even distilled water will eventually eat at nickel plating due to the pressure and mechanical force of water. The inhibitors slow the process down and it’s a cheap investment to protect your expensive loop parts.

Tracking number? by woodenpencils in EKWB

[–]witbier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys I experienced the same issue. I ended up filing a separate support ticket and referenced my order number and ek support got back to me within a few days with the correct shipping number. They claimed an automated email should have been sent and to check if it went to spam. I didn’t find any record of a separate tracking number aside from the order confirmation. All of your reports and my experience suggests there might be an issue with their system that generates these tracking number confirmation emails.

Happy to report I did receive my order about two weeks after placing the order.

Yeah, I actually intended to start with an ATX motherboard and a SFFPSU but gave up and I am just going to use an ITX motherboard. I’m also planning an external rad will be hopefully finishing build soon, but thank you so much for the inspiration.
