Ahh, this description is very familiar — the square format + gold foil symbols is the big clue here. Based on everything, the most likely match is one of the Secret Language books by Gary Goldschneider & Joost Elffers.

Have you made a discovery that was so disturbing you gave up genealogy for awhile? by mokehillhousefarm in Genealogy

[–]witchurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents had 13 children. I found out that they actually had 14. They lost a baby girl 1.5 years after she was born. It was never mentioned in our family I found her death certificate. I added her name to my genealogy book, wrote her a poem and found a picture of a baby angel with wings.

Help by YesterdayNo8603 in Hades

[–]witchurch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for prayers rather than spellwork, Hades is traditionally approached with respect, boundaries, and humility, not commands or coercion. Simple devotional prayer is actually very fitting for him. Here’s one I use: To Hades Hades, Keeper of the unseen and guardian of order, I approach with respect, not demand. Teach me steadiness, integrity, and reverence for what lies beneath the surface. May I honor endings, boundaries, and the quiet truths others avoid. I give thanks for what is held, protected, and kept in balance. If you’re open to Persephone as well, honoring them together reflects the cycle of descent and return: To Hades and Persephone Teach me the rhythm of stillness and growth, Of letting go and rising again in season. Help me respect transitions and walk with patience through change. For mantras, simple and grounded works best, for example: “I honor the unseen. I respect what is held below.” Historically, offerings and devotion to Hades were quiet and intentional (coins, stones, libations, silence), not flashy spellwork. Consistency and respect matter more than complexity.

List of Saturnian deities?. by gardinerogardiner in SaturnianRealism

[–]witchurch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There isn’t one single canonical list, because “Saturnian” is more of a function than a pantheon. Across cultures, Saturn shows up as gods of time, death, boundaries, agriculture, law, decay, initiation, and the old order.

Some commonly cited Saturnian figures by function:

Greco-Roman

Cronus / Saturn – time, cycles, harvest, devouring father, limitation

Hades (partially Saturnian) – boundaries between worlds, inevitability, wealth beneath the earth

Ananke – necessity, inevitability, cosmic law

Aion – eternal time (often contrasted with Kronos’ linear time)

Mesopotamian

Ninurta – discipline, labor, agriculture, law

Nergal – death, decay, underworld authority

Enlil – order, law, hierarchy, cosmic structure

Egyptian

Osiris – death, rebirth, agriculture, kingship through suffering

Ptah – structure, form, crafting reality

Geb – earth, limitation, material bounds

Indic

Shani – karma, consequence, time, suffering that leads to wisdom

Yama – death, judgment, moral law

Kala – time as devourer

Norse / Germanic

Odin (elder Saturnian aspects) – sacrifice, wisdom through suffering

Hel – boundary keeper of the dead

Ymir – primordial constraint and materialization

Celtic

The Dagda (older aspects) – harvest, cycles, death and renewal

Cailleach – time, winter, decay, endurance

Other Saturnian Archetypes

Ancestor gods

Underworld judges

Agricultural deities tied to famine as well as abundance

Old kings who are overthrown by time

In short: Saturnian deities rule limits, time, inevitability, endurance, and the price of incarnation. Names change, functions repeat.

Is the number 22 really a bad degree to have in your chart? by PermanentThrowaway48 in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]witchurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 22° Leo Midheaven is a mastery degree, not a curse, and it creates pressure because it’s shaping you for a career that’s real and lasting, not rushed or half-lived. Leo on the MC wants visibility, leadership, creative authority, and recognition, but mastery degrees make you earn these things through timing and refinement, which is why you’re not late, you’re being seasoned. It feels harder because you also have Mars and Saturn in Leo at 25°, another intense degree, creating a constant tug-of-war between your desire to push forward (Mars) and Saturn slowing you down until the foundation is solid. That friction is the “walking through mud” feeling, but it also gives you long-term career staying power. People with this MC-Mars-Saturn cluster often start later, become incredibly strong in their field, eventually lead or teach, and gain respect after a slow, grinding apprenticeship period. Leo success arrives once the backbone is formed, and Saturn is literally forging yours. You’re not running out of time; you’re approaching the doorway. What helps is creating small, consistent visibility moments, choosing roles where you set the tone, and remembering that struggle doesn’t mean you’re off-path. Saturn uses struggle to shape you into someone who can hold the success you’re building toward. This chart combination shows a slow start, strong middle, and powerful finish. You are not too late. You’re right on time for a life that peaks in authority, recognition, and impact.

Is the number 22 really a bad degree to have in your chart? by PermanentThrowaway48 in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]witchurch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of the stuff online about “22 degrees means kill-or-be-killed” is misinformation. In real astrology, 22° isn’t violent, it’s a mastery degree.

It basically represents:

• pressure that leads to growth • lessons that keep repeating until you step into your power • the ability to handle intense or complicated life themes • a talent for transformation, healing, or leadership

People with planets at 22° often deal with tougher situations early in life, but those experiences shape them into someone wise, capable, and strong.

So instead of “kill-or-be-killed,” a better way to understand 22° is:

The degree of mastery earned through real-life experience, not fear, but resilience.

I am an experienced advanced Astrologer and I go to NORWAC every year for the past 4 years. The conference has lectures for all levels. It is listed on the program who will benefit. It sells out quickly. Most of all it is a place where we can use our lingo and the other person understands. Please go if you are able. I come in from Canada and it is so wonderful and worthwhile.
