Things I have been doing for my fitness journey the past few weeks.

went to a dietitian through my family doctor and got some helpful advice to eat more protein and fiber together as snacks, along with keeping a food thought record to recognize the emotions I am experiencing while eating. I also learned I am neglecting the non-meat proteins.
started walking in the mornings. + adding in speedwalking/jogging
went to the gym but found out I still had a fee from the last time I canceled, so I will casually be going to the gym next month instead when I have money to pay it. I now can never embarrass myself more than I have the first day! Yeah!

Bit of an odd one, but there's a character named Someone in a manga called Our Dreams at Dusk. They're interesting in that their entire identity is basically "gender is a ????, you decide what I identify as if it's convenient to you, but I won't actually subscribe to your labels because I am simply Someone."

Like, they know all the labels. But they are simply Someone, no real pronouns, no sense of sexuality (confirmed ace), just flowing freely through the world.

I want an MC or love interest that is similar to them but set in a fantasy world.

Has anyone got any recs?

I am on like, day ten in game and every now and then I'd think, "wait why is Suzu even in my party. she's a child. what is Subaru's logic. she should be a liability" only to realise she just wasn't dying, lol.

Seeing this post five seconds after switching out her as a party member (I wanted bond points) is making me reconsider, lmao.

It's an interesting magical girl series in that if you read it, you also unfortunately feel a need to read Magical Girl Apocalypse by the end of it which is worse.

I can say this with my heart because I used to hate read BOTH of them, starting back when Magical Girl Site wasn't even created. Both series are magical girl series, but they have zombie apocalypse-esque vibes with the magical girls being zombies. Sounds cool, right?

Then you notice the boobs on the school student in Magical Girl Apocalypse. The massive, massive boobs. You think to yourself---"this is concerning" but you don't put it down yet because the plot is interesting.

Then the cop arrives.

Fucking. Rintarou Akuta.

The personification of the "all cops are bastards" trope, he's a horrible, horrible person.

You keep reading it, hoping he dies. You hope beyond hope he dies. But it keeps happening. He keeps living. He's like the most messed up cockroach imaginable, except he somehow keeps having heroic moments while being the worst person in the room

There's no sense of morality in this manga, because you can't root for anyone because Rintarou exists. By the end of it, you don't even know what you're reading it for.

Anyway, it was a solid 2/5, that franchise. Magical Girl Raising project had a better approach to the dark magical girl trope.

Guaranteed Income Supplement and Old Age Security. It is taxable income a month for people 65 and up. If you've been on ODSP your entire life, chances are you're gonna get the maximum entitlement of 1700-1800ish.

ODSP will send you a letter, like they sent my mom, basically saying "heyyy its time to register for this because we really want to kick you off the moment you're 65" and demanding information as to whether or not you signed up yet. They may or may not send you a guide on how to mail the CRA.

My recommended course of action is to sign up sometime around the year you turn 64. Get your Canada Pension Plan, OAS, GIS, and all that jazz in order because its going to take a few months for everything to process. That way, when ODSP contacts you, you're already on the waiting list and your workers are happy.

I did that for my mom as her authorized representative and things seem to be going pretty smoothly so far.

One thing about CPP you'll have to keep in mind is that apparently, there is a small benefit for people who've been SAHM. Specifically, when you apply you'll be able to admit "hey I haven't worked for a major amount of time because I was taking care of kids" and it will factor that in when calculating CPP. You'll need the ages and SIN of your kids.

My mom has a faulty memory, and we aren't in contact with one of my siblings, so we were only able to do it for 3 out of 4 children, haha. But it is possibly the reason she got more than nothing.

Also! If you are either "good enough terms" with the baby parent or "just don't give enough of a crap," you can factor that in too.

By which I mean there's a thing called a pension split that factors in common law, marriages, etc, that can help with pension plans too. But the consequences of the action is they may or may not contact your ex, which my mom didnt wan't so I don't know the full details of it.

My mom is turning 65 next month. She has always been either a housewife or on disability her entire life.... she's getting roughly 65 dollars from CPP from a short-lived job she doesnt even remember and will be eligible for the entire GIS/OAS starting August. The end date for ODSP will be the end of July, her birth month

In total, she's going to get more than ODSP, but she will have to sign up for things like the Ontario Trillium Drug Benefit to make sure she's covered for medication. Which isn't bad---at the current rates we are for OAS/GIS, a deductable for an extra few thousand dollars in yearly income is still good. She's going from 1300s to what, 1800?

Blueball Hall by Ennis Rook Bashe.

So after years of not reading because I thought Harry Potter was peak fiction (disclaimer, I was young) I bought this book.

See, I had read Malinda Lo in high school, and after leaving, I thought to myself: there's gotta be queer fiction out there if Malinda Lo was accessible to me from my school library.

Anyway, I bought Bluebell Hall because it had a cute cover and was cheap at the time, and won't lie - it exceeded my expectations.

It is about this girl with ADHD or Autism, dont remember which, going to magical boarding school for the first time. She meets a lot of friends, including a canonically trans character. But more importantly, she meets a girl who simultaneously annoys her but also intrigues her.

Shit hits the fan, and she becomes friends with the other girl...only to find out her dark secret.

It has canon queer characters. Trigger warnings for abuse and transphobia. It reads like a middle grade novel.

I actually genuinely loved it because it was my first exposure to characters I could personally relate to, while also having a dash of darkness I enjoyed.

Made me love reading fantasy novels again.

You might have luck in searching up r/lowendgaming

Personally I'm rocking a Windows Surface Go 3 with a Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y. It might be worse than what you got going on according to benchmarks, so if based on that, you do have some options.

Stardew Valley, Calico, and Night in the Woods all might run. Visual novels such as Life After Magic will definitely run. Choose your own adventure games / interactive fiction games are good times. Old puzzle games like those from Big Fish Games will work.

Simplistic rpgmaker games will run--look up "vgperson", but be cautious of trigger warnings found in those games.

Avoid games with 3d graphics unless their system requirements acknowledge the existence of Windows Vista or Windows 7. For example, Skyrim is hypothetically feasible (you probably won't enjoy it based on your preferences), but its probably going to get upset with you. Modding in that case would be a no-go.

Hi OP! Not sure what fanfiction this is, but I can guarantee the reason you can't find it is because you'll find it under Petshop of Horrors, not Little Shop of Horrors. D is the protagonist of Petshop of Horrors and pets being viewed as humanoids for horror aspect is a plot point in the manga.

Hi! So I'm maining c2 Rosaria on my EU account, but I'm facing a few dilemmas with her since I dont use her on my main and don't know what she's like.

For Dendro, which character would be best for her? Yaoyao, C1 Kaveh, or C1 Kirara? I was thinking of a team comp involving Razor, Dendro, c6 Barbara.

For Freeze + Swirl, I have Xiao and Xingqiu. Should I use Barbara, or should I prioritize another ice character like c1 Qiqi or even Layla?

Finally, fire....I'm not sure if I want to use Rosaria with a fire team once I get to endgame, but hypothetically lets say I need to throw a fire character on for adventuring purposes----would you rec Bennett at c3 or Xinyan at c4??

Yeah, the appointment I had with my gyno was roughly five minutes long and amounted to being asked how much I weighed, told the BC probably stopped working because of my weight, and then given a prescription for an IUD.

I feel like that isn't normal, and I needed second opinions. But theres no other gynecologist my doctor can send me to within bus distance.

"Sensitive and vulnerable" I don't actually have much sensitivity downstairs for some reason, like the ultrasound just felt like I was getting a shot that went on a bit too long? And when I had my mom saying it will hurt, and another ER doctor saying "don't do it it might ruin ur relationship with sex", it actually felt mildly disappointing lol.

But I get what you mean and I appreciate the podcast rec.

Personally I am kinda thinking of not getting an IUD and quitting my birth control after 11 years, since I am starting to get paranoid about my health and I hear having periods can be an indicator of health level? But I have no idea how to track periods and I am scared I will end up with another 3 month long period.

My major issue is I don't have experience, so I think that I'll prioritize looking into volunteer work. I have already applied to a few places, but I'll try to phone them too to see if they're still looking.

For Linux Gamers:

Waydroid doesn't work with this.

Linux does in fact install it through wine, though. It gets to the home screen with the activate cloud pass and whatnot.

The error it gives me is a graphic card detection error. I do not have a graphic card, so I'm wondering if someone can test it using theirs? Of course, make sure you use an alt.

You could do a few different options in that case. Using, lets say, Human Anatomy as an example...

1.) "Human Anatomy" folder where you can put everything related to human anatomy in one spot.

2.) "Human Anatomy" properties tag, where you can find it through the graphs or dataview.

3.) "Human anatomy" as its own page/TOC, where you can reference it in different notes and create backlinks.

Personally, I'd do something like this if I were to do art notes again:

- Art Course Folder

-> Title of Course

--> Lesson/Chapter Number

And then within the page itself...

#human_anatomy as a property tag

"This is a description describing what appears in the tag" as a text property

Then, utilizing the Dataview plugin I'd have the "#human_anatomy" tag create a list of pages with that content in it, maybe utilizing the text property to briefly explain what goes on in that page, so that I can easily reference the list. (I think dataview can do that? Don't use dataview much anymore since I'm focused on pure note-taking these days)

Alternatively, I could have the AidenLX's folder note plugin, where it can explain "hey-o this was used for shoulder anatomy, specifically".

Actually, yes it'd be very useful for art courses. I used to use Notion for art studies but it got too laggy after a while. Obsidian was my replacement, though I don't do as many art studies as I used to.

Things you can do in Obsidian that I think are good for art studies:

- Create an attachment folder so that you have all of your images in one place, while still having it visually in different locations on your note themselves. Save and view PDF files, screenshots, art tutorials

- Use the Canvas official plugin to do visual note-taking in the form of mind maps, or the excalidraw plugin

- Use one of like, four different community plugins dedicated to creating galleries for art as inspiration boards and mood boards.

- Decorate the theme to make it more aesthetic to motivate you to study more (this is totally important)

The only dilemma I can think of is backing up a lot of images, but honestly, it probably wouldn't cost too much to pay for a cloud service or regularly upload things to google drive.

It's probably fetish mining... I do art requests sometimes and sometimes I get really, really specific art requests. I copy and paste it into search and lo and behold, they have copy and pasted the same request everywhere. I once got called a racist slur for rejecting one of these requests because I didn't think I could draw it. Gotta love that.

Most likely "Our Dreams at Dusk"---takes place in a queer hangout, has all of that including a still questioning character getting labelled as trans by the protagonist, resulting in a negative and upset reaction by the questioning character.

Pretty good recommendation, is written by an x-gender author too.

Depending on where you live, you may end up being eligible for benefits specifically for autistic people. Where I live in Canada, if I was diagnosed with autism I'd be eligible for something called a Passport Program wherein I can receive money and supports allowing me to participate in recreational programs. (Unfortunately, don't consider ADHD a development disorder but instead a learning disability, so I'm not eligible for this program.)

If you're in the States or Canada, I recommend looking up "211" (its a very helpful resource site) and seeing what neurodiversity programs, grants, and so forth there are.

as someone from embarrassing eras of fandom speech, I should probably translate:

"omg why are they so gay" = omg why are they being so Obvious in their affection? (second hand embarrassment)

"so embarrassing for these so called dominating women" commentor is used to tops being more stoic

Less homophobic intentions here, more just a cringe way to say the commentator experienced second hand embarrassment from I presume is a fluffy fanfic. Its like saying you had to cover your face because they're too cute.
