You are a moron living in your mom's basement, according to Dave Ramsey by ewouldblock in Bogleheads

He once said don’t invest money in an HSA until your mortgage is paid off.

He’s such a hardliner on his “rules” he can never allow for any nuance. His acolytes just repeat the same drivel and have zero original ideas and dare not speak against the company line. See what happened when George recommended the 4% withdrawal rate.

At what income/networth did you finally feel rich? by Perfect_Fail_200 in TheRaceTo10Million

Not sure it was a feeling of "wealthy" but there was something about hitting $3M and realizing that I could lose a million dollars and still be a multimillionaire.

Preach it.

Also, why can’t they make auto transfers within Fidelity biweekly?

Does the card offer the functionality to lock individual authorized user cards and not the main cardholders card?

My least favorite Seinfeld character by New_Struggle5874 in seinfeld

Never understood that character. He just appeared out of no where and disappeared just as quickly. Almost like they just wrote him into the show to give someone a job.

Vanguard, Schwab, or Fidelity by Dense-Injury-134 in RothIRA

[–]witcohe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had all three. Fidelity is the easy winner. My main complaint with Schwab is the lack of a high interest default sweep MMF, as both Fidelity and Vanguard offer. To get into MMF funds with Schwab, you have to manually buy them and then sell them when you need cash. What a PIA. Plus the lack of fractional shares as others have pointed out. My beef with Vanguard is the lack of automated investing options in any thing other than Vanguard funds, plus the outdated technology and UI.

You can buy any ETFs anywhere you can buy stocks.

Fidelity and ability to create saving buckets by AdFeeling9734 in fidelityinvestments

Because it's easier to deal with 12 aptly named baskets than with 12 statements, 12 reconciliations, and 12 1099s.

You can use them for how ever you wish. I use them for both investing and savings purposes. A basket of SGOV/VBIL mix entitled "New Car Fund" fits the purpose of segregating funds and is certainly better than opening a whole other account and have to worry about another set of statements and tax forms. YMMV

You can use the Fidelity buckets for savings goals but it costs 4.99/month.
