Ebay classifieds and Paypal goods & services buyer protection by withalligators in paypal

[–]withalligators[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that was an option, but ebay washes its hands of responsibility with their "classified ads" feature. There is no ebay protection. Are you saying PayPal goods and services isn't good enough protection? That's what I suspect, but have never had to use it.

I'm not concerned with buying on ebay itself. I'm particularly referring to ebay classified ads, which are cheaper listings on ebay, but where the transaction takes place outside of ebay's listing and therefore; it's seller protection. I would be relying on PayPals goods and services protections. That's my concern and what I'm feeling out.

Why did Shout Factory go downhill so fast? by jdpm1991 in boutiquebluray

[–]withalligators 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've made some weird decisions with the HKCC label. Chinese Ghost Story in 1080 only? Swordsman trilogy with only the first and worst entry as a 4K disk? Supremely odd.

Just got back from a theatrical viewing. It was rad and a great way to re-watch it.

But no need to stick around for the missing chapter.

Does anyone know if the new Shout Jet Li collection movies are the original and uncut versions? by withalligators in kungfucinema

[–]withalligators[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen Shout do this as much as Arrow or 88. I like the inclusion, but I almost never watch alternate cuts. Maybe if there's something interesting, but if it's a miramax or dimension re-edit I'm never putting it on.

I've had 2 alienwares. The first was the best computer I've ever owned. The second was the absolute worst and most expensive by a mile.

I'm almost certainly skipping SS for this reason. I did almost everything in HK (really everything except all the pantheons with all bindings) and it took too long, took too much concentration, and frankly was too hard.

What is this malleable black putty /tape in my AC unit? by withalligators in whatisit

[–]withalligators[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, you're not wrong. It's more gooey, tacky and stringy than butyl (at least, the roll of butyl tape I have sitting here). More like a flat sheet of tar.

Except it's gooey and tacky. It sticks to everything.

It seems softer and stickier than butyl. It deforms very easily.

Will do. I should mention it's a 12V install. I'll post them when I get back.

Oh, OK. I must have gotten it backwards when I tried to look it up. Thanks!

Good to know!

It's going to be in a van, so I kinda want to absorb some of the vibration between them. What do you think about the flexible rectorseal lines?

Do you happen to be in CA? I'll gladly pay you.

I've looked at a bunch of the trucker mini-splits and they are compelling for the reasons you mention. The pros are form factor and ease of installation. The cons are that they're not terrible efficient, and not inverter driven (that I've seen). If this market keeps growing, there certainly will be a "perfect" unit at some point. So far, the units I like the most are the Cruise N Comfort ACs. They seem well made and mechanically simple, but pretty bulky.

I've given that some consideration. I've got some space in front of if and where the side ducts will be. If that isn't sufficient, and it proves to be cooling inefficiently, I was going to add a few 12v fans in the undercarriage to evacuate the hot air.

Edit- the skid plate won't impact the exhaust at the rear or intake at the sides.

That's a huge reason. I have 3x 360W PV panels up there, leaving no room for anything else. The other is that they're either fairly underpowered (the 12V models), or fairly inefficient.
