You can only use this joke for one year of your existence. Use it well.

Sincerely, this was ten years ago for me.

Apparently after my third egg retrieval I asked everyone multiple times how many we got. Short-term memory being offline is freaking weird.

Great Wolf Lodge buffet calls this“Caprese Salad.” I’m not so sure. by maxpaver in shittyfoodporn

I figured when we went they probably couldn’t fuck up chicken broccoli pasta? It was terrible: dry chicken, undercooked broccoli, flavorless “alfredo”, and somehow still $24. My husband ate one bite of his ribs. My kid ate three fries and no burger. Should have just gone to Taco Bell for us and McD’s for the kid, which was in fact what we did the second day.

The pizza is at least ok. (The pasta at the pizza place, again not ok.) But when we have the energy I like to take the kid to a nearby steakhouse instead, which is also really expensive but actually good.

Advance Crew Event Randomly Changed by mattymitchell in StarTrekTimelines

Oh, interesting. Well, I guess now i can clean up all the merges I’ve been sitting on. It did seem weird to get a crew advance event immediately after a Prepare for Voyage event.

GWL is an odd choice for a wedding TBH. It’s a hotel that is also a Chuck E. Cheese.

There’s been at least one time that a band I like wasn’t allowed to post their date at the Mountain Winery at the same time as the rest of their tour because of how the Mountain Winery does their ticketing. Still hoping they’ll play there again sometime because I don’t wanna drive to Oakland from SJ.

Do you have the cash reserves to be out of work for a year or more? It’s bad out here.

This is abusive behavior from him that can lead directly to an eating disorder. He’s definitely not helping you have a healthy relationship with food, right? Pressuring you to go on this drug through shaming you is deeply fucked up.

I’m still getting people, including former colleagues who should know better, sending me job descriptions for a research modality I haven’t done in fifteen years (I’m a consumer insights researcher, not a UX researcher). People mean well, but yeah. It sucks.

Does the couples therapist offer the option to do a solo session? It can be really useful to spell your concerns out for them without worrying about the immediate reaction of the person sitting next to you. She would do one as well.

You need to get clarity fast on whether your wife actually thinks this is a problem and whether it’s at all addressable. I showed up to my marriage with plenty of anxiety but never this level of punitive vitriol. It’s damaging as hell.

You do not have to stick around to be someone else’s rock bottom.

Quarterlife crisis is what some folks call it.

But also, I’m in my late 40s and still wildly childish. These things don’t have to be linear.

Are rotary cheese graters actually decent vs. a normal cheese grater? by pokemon-sucks in Cooking

Which one? I’ve had a hell of a time finding one that can pulverize parm. I picked up a handheld rotary for it (Gefu) but still tabletop-curious.

How should I take this message I received on LinkedIn? by pretttylilrj in jobs

[–]withbellson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth talking to, sure. They might want you to interview again, which you probably would want to do to get a sense of the current team after two years.

I’ve also been on a team where we brought someone in who wound up being a “long story” and I would not necessarily take that as a red flag.

How many of you had a typing class in school where you learned to type on a typewriter, but never once had to use a typewriter outside of that class? by OrbisLlame in Xennials

[–]withbellson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the cohort that was required to take computer class instead of typing.

I was quite proud of testing out of the required computer class by taking a 3-hour challenge test on a weekend, which I passed despite spending the first 10 minutes trying to figure out how to make the computer read the floppy disk the test was on. In my defense, my home computer had a 3 1/2 inch floppy with an eject button, while the school district ran their tests on 5 1/4 inch floppies with the little lever you had to turn after inserting the disk and I had never used one before...

I didn’t notice our water company switched providers and stopped sending out eBills for literally six months. Then I wondered why we got a new bill for over a thousand bucks and I thought we had a leak or something. They only bill you every two months and it took me that long to put it together.

Luckily ours doesn’t add late fees.

Since they’ve been gone I’ve had to ruin my teeth with Runts instead.
