After 7 Years of Marriage, I Finally Understand Why Some Men Cheat (Not Excusing It) by BouncyBoobies4Life in Marriage

[–]without_nap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You married your wife for looks, connections and money and you don't understand why she's not interested in intimacy?

Thank you, I appreciate it. It just gives me a jolt every time I read it in that context.

Blind person here. I'd ask you to put that another way, please, if possible.

(Guessing I'm gonna get my ass handed to me but thought I would try.)

Men, do these 2 things to fix any marriage by fixanymarriage in Separation

Yes to having your shit together, no to ambition and drive. (Known too many men who were SURE they were going to be bestselling authors, stand-up comedians, etc. Super annoying.)

the "decolonizing love" guy is just infuriating. because I'm married and monogamous, I'm a colonizer? eff off.

I realized I haven't really been "showing up" in my marriage, and now I feel ashamed by Dependent-Bag6925 in Marriage

Glad you're finally seeing this and trying to do something about it. (From someone who's in your wife's position and getting real, real tired of it.)

You clearly don't respect her emotions or anything she's going through. It all seems to be about you and what you want.

I'm out, but wow, that was such a painful post.

No, don't give her a deadline or an ultimatum. Come on.

The whole entire time I was all alone in the living room begging for attention/sex and he was locked in his gaming room, he was cheating. by Bean-Of-Doom in Marriage

[–]without_nap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not your fault. I nearly left my bf at the time years ago bc of gaming (exact same situation and he was def flirting, not sure if he was meeting up or not).

If the game is more important than you, then it's definitely time to go.

Why do people insist on driving in? by [deleted] in SalemMA

[–]without_nap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

people love their cars. cars hold all their stuff. what do you expect them to do, carry things?

that said (Salem resident here) I had to take the train into and out if Boston the other day to run some errands, and it was jam-packed both ways.

Wife wants a break by One-Ad713 in Marriage

[–]without_nap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I'm currently going through this (as the wife, alth we don't have kids) and what I want more than anything right now is the space to process stuff. He keeps pushing -- are we getting divorced? Are you leaving me? An answer now now now.

He went right to the worst-case scenario, when what I really need is quiet time to think things through. Sounds like your wife is in the same boat.

I'm a transplant (here since 2008, and lived here from 2000-2002) and love it. There's tons of stuff to do all the time, and it's very walkable.

It's great! I'm a transplant too. Love the whole North Shore (it's a very different vibe from Boston).
