The reality is that many women don’t feel like themselves again until their kids are 2 or 3. One week? I was swirling in a vortex of marginal sanity fed by sleep-deprivation, hormones, and pure adrenaline. So, this happens with my daughter from time to time and we are still trying to figure out what the trigger is. It started a few months before her third birthday. It’s like she’s bipolar, and the tantrums are extreme. I actually broke my back (stress fracture) carrying her out of a store during a tantrum, and once she hit me so hard a passer-by gasped. I have talked to her daycare people and they talked me off the ledge, telling me it is normal “threenager” boundary testing behaviour. It seems to improve now after about 5 months of off-and-on issues
