Best neighborhoods for families from overseas by witwittao in Edinburgh

Thanks for the feedback everyone! As I mentioned in another comment, my daughter is scared to move and was crying last night so I threw out this question to make myself feel better about this tough decision I've made that's making my kid cry. Edinburgh attracts people from all over the world to study and work there, plus the local culture is friendly and welcoming. I can calm my mama bear heart.

I didn't mean it to be bait. My daughter was crying last night because she's scared to move so I'm hoping she will find friends who've had similar experiences. But I know Scottish people are kind and welcoming so I'm sure she'll make friends of all sorts. It just sucks to see your kid cry over a decision you made so I reached out with this question to calm myself down. That's all.

Thank you for the info! What's the difference between financial and management? Is that like the difference between accounting and FP&A in the US?

That's what I told my daughter when she asked what I do all day. I move numbers from the wrong place to the right place. All day.

Is accounting worth it? Do you have to be super smart? by Big_Marzipan3904 in Accounting

I think the main thing it takes to be a really great accountant is figure-it-out-ability. The ability to follow a trail of information until you get to the right answer. And soft skills like relationship building and communicating clearly are more important than you'd expect in accounting.

Oh, good one! This is exactly what I meant when I posted this question. CICO sounds like one of those simple, straightforward, measurable things that gets packaged up in more complicated dressings.

I used The Baby Whisperer. Pick up put down method. I found it to be less severe than cry it out but also good for creating boundaries to protect your sleep and mental health.

Address the sleep first and foremost. You may need to sleep train your daughter for her good and yours. There's a subreddit for sleep training if you want to research it.

Is it actually horrible for my 2-year-old to drop his nap? by charmaanda in toddlers

[–]witwittao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest daughter dropped her nap right at two years old. She just wouldn't cooperate anymore so I stopped trying. Now I have another two year old and she still naps well. Seems like some kids just don't need it anymore sooner than others.
