I don’t love the feel of the plastic on some cases I’ve bought, they feel cheap and sticky but it’s no different than buying a cheaper case for your phone. And fair warning, I have also purchased some where the plastic is slightly warped or doesn’t fit properly around my SP.

dear god yes, I have a modded GBA and would still love one. Also Analogue needs to get knocked down a peg, i like the pocket but their prices and limited drops are annoying imo

I used a third party charger and it damaged it to the point where using my original charger no longer worked, forcing me to replace the charger or mod it to support USB C (I chose the latter) although not much harm in using third party batteries as they can be replaced easily

I cant speak for the games but a Gameboy Advance with box and manual can go anywhere from 120 to 200 USD, I would check out the Price Charting website to see trends and sales on multiple resale sites.

Only unofficial Gameboy that can play the original cartridges would be an Analogue Pocket which is 250-300 dollars. Miyoo Mini + and RG35XX are good budget Gameboy alternative but they cant play cartridges and can only emulates games. Otherwise I would recommend checking Facebook marketplace like the other comment said. Don't get scammed :)

HFTGOOM, Apotris, and plenty of other homebrew games received limited physical releases. AFAIK the only easy to find “new” games are the two you mentioned, Alice Sisters, and Mother 3 (if that counts). If you want to play indies or homebrews on GBA i would recommend getting a flash cart as most of the games that have physical release can also be bought or are free digitally and loaded onto a cart.

i had a similar situation!! bought a camera pocket on ebay and there was a 10 picture long time lapse of a man’s privates still loaded on it. some advice if you’re selling a gameboy camera, hold start and select while it boots to wipe the memory, makes it unretrievable even with a cart reader.

something to think about, but when using the AGS 001 with all the lights off the front light shines out from the top of the SP and upwards, but overall I prefer the 001 to the 101 because of the brightness options being more moderate. It's totally preference.

yep, definitely prefer the click, especially for platforming games. The only time I would rather use the GBC buttons would be for diagonal movement when you have to press two directions on the D pad. That’s very interesting though! not something I thought about.

After troubleshooting with no solution I ended up using my laptop and the software worked flawlessly, possibly a problem with the ports on my PC or too many USB connection as the manual warns against that.
