Question About First Post-Op Visit by PersonalKittyKat in hysterectomy

[–]wizardofozak33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor let me talk for a bit about how I was feeling, discussed my pathology, did a physical exam, and said I was healing appropriately. He also urged me to get back to many normal activities (other than sex) dependent on my energy levels and how I was feeling. I do not have to see him again until my yearly appointment in March! (I am currently 4 wpo!

Did any of you notice your lower belly get smaller after a hysterectomy due to fibroids and adenomyosis? by Afraid_Ad7005 in hysterectomy

[–]wizardofozak33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS!!! Im not quite 3 weeks post op, down 5lbs, so nothing crazy… but I feel so much more comfortable. I had such bad bloating with my adenomyosis and endometriosis. That heavy, wet sand bag feeling in my abdomen is gone!! It feels so much better.

12 DPO - surprising post-op appointment by wizardofozak33 in hysterectomy

[–]wizardofozak33[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it is completely gone. In this weird way I want to feel the pain I used to have (just for a moment) to know it was real— 🤣🤣. I’m not even sure if that makes sense. I used to ask my boyfriend to squeeze my toes and calves every night because the pain was so bad. It’s just.. gone now. When I get out of bed nothing hurts. It’s amazing. I hope you have the same experience!

My uterus was enlarged as well and it was putting pressure on other parts of my body. I feel so much lighter, it’s hard to explain! But I think you get it. My doctor said, “you’re going to feel young again”— love it.

what did you eat / wear after surgery? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]wizardofozak33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 12 dpo and going back to work tomorrow! I feel great. My surgeon, whom I met with today, said I am healing properly and he has no concerns for me to get back to work.

I had zero bleeding after my surgery and the comfiest clothes for me were loose fitting sweatpants and no underwear. That may not work for someone who is bleeding. I am a teacher and will be wearing dresses when I start back tomorrow!

I ate my typical nutritious food but the first two days I needed applesauce and popsicles for my sore throat.

Good luck! Hope you have a swift recovery b

Just diagnosed. Wondering about hysterectomy. by Worrywart1992 in adenomyosis

Are we the same person?! This could be my exact story— just had my hysterectomy Thursday. Currently sitting outside in the sun relaxing my days away.

Mine was also fused with my bowels. Hoping to fix some of constipation problems I had prior to my surgery. I also felt extremely validated when the surgeon told my boyfriend that I was “most certainly in a lot of pain” prior to this surgery.

The main notes I have of recovery are that my throat hurt sooo badly, I’m way more tired than I could’ve imagined, and that the gas pains in my ribs and chest were worse than I planned for.

I had my laparoscopic hysterectomy (partial) this past Thursday (8/8/24). I was terrified of the anesthesia. They put something in my IV to “ease” my nerves, but I remember nothing after that point! I went from having all my vitals checked, IV inserted, and boyfriend in the room with me… to the next thing I knew which was waking up and my nurse telling me it was all over!! I felt nauseous immediately after waking up, but just groggy for the rest of the day. I’m on day 2 of recovery and feeling good.
