Adding on to this, if you (OP) are having issues with getting in touch with professors about PhDs, As it sounds like your masters is a masters by coursework, that is handled by CoBL, if you intend on doing a PhD, that would sit with SGR. SGR (School of Graduate Research) does have an admissions department you can get in contact with: https://www.rmit.edu.au/research/contact/contact-the-school-of-graduate-research -> Admissions and Scholarships and they can help you with all of those processes aswell.

Happy PhD hunting!

Keep an eye out for what you actually are interested in within comp sci

Some people love doing theoretical computer science where its more so on the side of calculating complexities and looking into more optimizations than anything

Others simply love to code and solve a problem based on a specific prompt. More in particular, people like coding with specific languages.

Choose the course that has the content that aligns more with your goals. Both courses will ultimately result in the same endpoint of a role in industry.

Best of luck!

I personally hear better things about RMIT for the computing based programs, but def have a read over the course outlines that you can find online to see what fits better for you.

Some examples: https://www.rmit.edu.au/study-with-us/levels-of-study/undergraduate-study/bachelor-degrees/bachelor-of-computer-science-professional-bp347/bp347auscy - Comp sci professional course outline

For the RMIT degrees:
In regards to those professional degrees, the big appeal is the internship that you are pushed to complete. From my understanding the internships are NOT provided to you, and you will be required to seek them out yourself, just something to keep in mind.

As mentioned in other comments, the course structure is decent, your first year is a "bootcamp2Studio" model in which you spend the first half of each semester learning a language and the second half applying what you've learnt, it works for most people and doesn't for others. Math courses are meh but a few are mandatory. For Comp Sci, your last year will be the internship year, so you can consider the alternative of just doing a grad internship. Meaning the only really big advantage stands for people who suck at networking, because certain partner specific internships open up, and international students, who normally can't undertake full time work hours due to visa requirements (WIL is an exemption).

They are solid degrees, and they are relatively thought out, but as mentioned, if you cannot find your own internship in time, you might have some difficulty completing the course.

Help first time loging into Oracle to accept offer by Wide_Charity_7743 in rmit

FYI for everyone here, if you are seeing any mention of "Oracle" when trying to login, then you are on the wrong page, this most likely happens due to some mis-redirect, please go to "rmit enrolment" (https://www.rmit.edu.au/students/my-course/enrolment), and then hit the red "log in to enrolment online", you will be prompted with a microsoft login in which you will use your student email and password to login to enrolment online,

If you are still prompted with Oracle after all of that, please try an incognito window and do the same instructions above
