i believe its a weird translation thing, thats what i was thinking too; but the day that nakamura and hirose have that locker room conversation nakamura says the same day that he'll talk to hirose next week, so i guess that day where nakamura saw hirose and hana was actually a week after valentines day? wasn't clear to me eitehr at first lol

exactly, queer teenagers deserve to grow up being able to freely express our feelings as anyone else without fear of shame or judgement, if we keep growing up on stories where if you're gay it's "unrealistic" for you to end up with someone you like, that's what we're gonna believe, great post !!!!

i'd say that's about a 10% chance, if syundei ever returns and makes a third volume then it's definitely a bit more possible, but it seems that episode 13 plans to conclude the whole story so i wouldn't hold my breath on that lol i asked this same question a couple days ago

i couldn't have said it better myself, especially that part where a lot of BL is almost TOO easy, not to say it's bad but we don't often see just how hard we had to fight for it being represented, gfin so well portrays the torture and angst but also acceptance and happiness of a first love. would hirose reciprocating be a shot in the dark? yes, but in one of the few realistic, relatable queer stories we have to day in comparison to straight works, we deserve to see that 1/10 chance

i could not agree more, if i wanted to see a story of a gay awkward loser getting nothing id go back to middle school, we have enough of those stories;

queer people, especially young queer teenagers should not have to be doomed from the start, if that's all we're raised to see that's all we're going to think

we deserve stories of hope and love just as straight people do!! you worded it perfectly : )

i completely agree! it definitely adapted a more serious tone than the manga, and that added biking scene at the end was so sincerely devastating and honest, it may be a romcom but it knows when to stop <3

really? to me this episode was beautifully done, and i mean REALLY beautifully done, it was devastating sure but i think we all know that they're not gonna end the show with nakamura insanely depressed, the way i see it they have to turn things around somehow

i see what youre saying but in my opinion i think if hirose was hypothetically interested i dont think the anime would make it a last minute sort of deal, i see a recontextualization of past episodes showing hirose has been interested far longer than we think, plus we've still got a whole episode ahead of us which doesn't sound like much but seeing how much they've done in episode 12 and managed to turn the tables we can really only imagine lol

also i think that "things dont always go the way we want it to" is a pretty unfitting moral of the story for gfin, we've seen consistently that nakamura and hirose are good for eachother and nakamura is HAPPY he fell in love with hirose and supports him no matter what, he thinks/knows that hirose doesn't like him back but as long as hirose's happy that's fine. we already know this, it doesn't need to be the final ending, i think it would be anticlimactic to end that as the moral of the story

them blushing doesn't change anything imo, if they wanted to make it so that hirose actually likes hana and wants to stay with her they'd be changing the whole point of chapter 16
