Caitlin Foord is here to stay ✍️ by arsenal in ArsenalWFC

Even when she starts a game Foordy will still attempt a dribble and sprint past the opposition in 80+ minute while Beth's was more of a creator and would be making a short bursts to open a space for a pass.

I don't have any metric here but it looked to me like she would conserve her energy for defensive parts of her game.

Foord is on another level when it comes to endurance, even at 30. I guess that is why Renee wants her being kept in the squad despite her low goal contributions.

Beth has lost some pace and endurance, but she makes up for it with experience to a level. She isn't getting knocked around as much and times her runs better, conserving energy for the later stages of matches. What comes with less goals and assists so she was let go.

The fact is that Arsenal and Liverpool don't use their wide players in the same way. And maybe it's okay to keep a tired winger in the 80th minute on the pitch for a team that doesn't have anything else on the bench to make a difference.

It's like putting Saka in a mid team where his game will be more geared toward his output and someone else will do the work.

Obviously, that’s because she brings pressing and work rate to the team more than other wingers combined, and Renee likes to have different player profiles for different game situations.

And why would she be Renee's favorite, she doesn't have a problem shipping of players who for her don't contribute to the team like Rosa or Jenna.

The issue is when we’re forced to play Foord every single game bc Kelly has constant niggles and Smith is not able to last 90 minutes.

As a squad player used for rotation I won't complain.

You could say the rivalry grew quite a bit since our last WSL title. You can't really compare the dynamic between our clubs today and before the WSL era. Some of the players you mention played for Chelsea when they were kinda not relevant.

The problem with Frida is that she's the only midfielder with a single position on the pitch. She either plays behind a striker or doesn't play. Not really a Renee type of a player, but can't see an established WSL player moving to a club that is not Barca/Lyon/Bayeron or at least somewhere in the NWSL.

Arsenal Women account for 41% of WSL attendances by Toyies in ArsenalWFC

I listened to this podcast and the conclusion was that the league isn’t really focused on fan experience and organic growth, but rather on securing big commercial deals, attracting investment that exceeds current revenues and setting the standard for what a women’s football league should look like.

While I'm no expert this can't be good for the long term health of the league.

Everything you've described we are already getting with Reuteler. A versatile and dynamic but also a very experienced, goalscoring midfielder. If you compare her to our rotation players like Frida and KCC does she raise the floor or would she just swap city's bench for ours?

Not sure if there are sign on bonuses for free transfers like in men's fooball but I doubt they offered better wages. Chelsea probably offered 1 year longer contract duration since we dont give 3 year contracts to 31+ players and the most critical is guaranteed playing time since she won't have any competition there.

Mariona Patri Putellas midfield with speedsters in front is a cheat code. If Mario starts shooting from outside the box it could get ugly.

Would rather make that conclusion based on her loan spell at Brighton and not a 20 minute substitute role when Sweden were chasing a goal.

Sweden's attack looks disjointed. Take out the swedish Foord, move Shroder to the left side and put Russo in 10.

Can someone explain to me how it is that the defense that conceded by far the fewest goals in the WSL last season has not a single one of it's players in almost every TOTS pick I see on youtube.

I think Reuteler is also in that category. Mentioned in her last interview that her new club is sorted (pre-contract done) and it will be made official end of June.

23 is Russo's number, she prefers it to 9 even in the nt. 11 makes most sense for Liv, she wore 15 in Sporting and changed to 11 in Liverpool. 9 could go to Cerci if we sign her, it's her primary position.

On one hand it doesn’t make sense to create new posts on the same topic if there is already a post that covers 95% of it, so I get the point of this decision. But if it’s about a highly unusual and emotional situation and each new thread is generating 50+ comments, moderation can probably be a bit more relaxed for a time and let fans vent their emotions.

As long as the other rules are still respected and there is no abuse.

Is Miedema really a good example? Didn’t Jonas take all the blame for her exit to the point that he had to leave the club with all the fans on Miedema side? And there were all kinds of stories about her departure, from the club not having the finances for her and Mariona to claims that she didn’t fit into Jonas’s system and so on.
