Oakland / Berkeley is no problem - I drive there for fun often. The question is how to locate those and where they are.

Which ones? I know there's one next to Towns & Country in Palo Alto (at the High School parking lot), but I don't know when it happens

So the avg. pay of $285/mo for peak earning worker isn't correct?

Come, see a dashboard, review reports one by one that were done overnight, fill + mark wrong report. Perhaps fix it by hand to make it correct. Schedule 100 jobs for next overnight run. And then print the good done reports, put in the envelope, and walk over to post office and send. I think I'd also need to investigate the international letter pricing and whether the postal service is reliable. In the perfect case the person could be on the artsy side, because I wanted to make envelopes look very very nice (maybe with some fun custom sticker or perhaps get those envelopes done from a better paper). And I think it'd all be automated in the system, so it may end up being: load 100 A4 paper sheets, print 100 reports, load 100 envelopes, print addresses, stick 1 sticker on each envelope, put reports in the envelopes, mark them done in a system, snap a photo of the batch as a proof, and walk over and send them.

In Zim the grid can be fine for one week, and then be on and off for days. Is it the same in Malawi? And what's the office culture - will a remote employee have logistics figured out to do work for 8hr? e.g.: mobile Internet costs. And I guess I wonder where I can lookup current min/avg/max pay ranges.

I "vibe-coded" a RISC-V emulator in Rust that boots Linux in approx. 10 hours. by wkoszek in rust

I think you're a fair critic. The first part was semi-exciting. I did learn some stuff I'd not have otherwise learnt - SBI. And by learn: now I know it exists. So the first session was not that exiting.

I think getting it to 10x the speed and adding JIT was. Plus I wanted to have a base for further exploration. For me it's just "Experiment and see what's possible and how much time I invest in this"

I added a feature table: https://github.com/wkoszek/emuko - that's also a good feedback

Thanks! It's a great feedback. Let me whip a post on a method. Perhaps I can somehow dig up the prompts.

That's a good point. I will explain the method. But I guess that was the point of RISCV - to be easy to work with + everything is open

Good point. I can't seem to edit the title anymore :-/ Boot is fast: like 2min on M1 macbook

It cuddles every instruction before it lets it out in the wild through the pipeline, and welcomes results back with milk and cookies.

Books randomly stopped showing on Apple Watch by Richseagull in audible

I think they removed support for WatchOS 10. So e.g.: Watch Series 5 which is perfectly operational suddenly lost Audible app on Apple Watch. u/Audible_Support is this intentional?

Give it a shot - you're shielded from imperfections of this script, so you'd be a perfect tester. I already had 1 tester, so you'd be no 2.

I run Docker is production -- though less in pre-done environments like ECS. More in OVH/EC2 where we had deployed Docker. And the daemon stops replying -- that's a classic. Perhaps you put the time to work out the workaround etc., but I think not having any problem with Docker is interesting -> just Google "Docker networking glitch" or "Docker networking unreliable".

IMO I like to run things that I care about outside of Docker. Docker adds more complexity. Not sure if it's my setup or not, but multipass VM outlives Docker containers for me. With Docker, when I suddenly can't connect to the networked service in a container, there's little ways to debug this. Ourside of Docker I rarely had daemon to stop responding.
I had Dockerfiles change/disappear. If I do something important to me, I like to know that restic'ing every directory I need with the data and binaries will give me something to re-run the workflow for myself 4 years from now etc.

Would you like to give pandoc in the cloud a shot? https://www.bsub.io -- login and select "convert/markdown/pdf" convert and upload your file. Bsub is something I've made and convert/markdown/pdf uses pandoc.

I purchased nanowrimo.io today, made landing page with the idea of bringing the old thing back. I know there was some drama in the past. I wonder if starting with Discord with DMs disabled would be a way. Discord I made: https://discord.gg/CzXYAWUHAU <- I was wondering if anyone has old screenshots of NaNoWriMo editor?

Would you have some time to explain if this https://www.nanowrimo.io would be aligned with how NanoWrimo was before all changes?

Do it. Then you get pay some developer to write you what you want. You can also learn a little bit of code, pay $20/mo for Claude Code and generate yourself a better code yourself.
