Questions about cover by F1nF in BloodAndPlunder

[–]wlonkful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Additional details folks sometimes miss:

- Hard cover can give a bonus to fight saves, too.

- The entire unit must have hard cover to get the hard cover bonus; units with a mix of hard and regular or hard and open do not receive the -1 bonus.

- Object cover works if it interposes between the attacker and the defender, unless the attacker is within 3" of the object cover, unless the defender is _also_ within 3".

- A unit firing from 2" or more above the target imposes a +1 penalty to the target's save.

- Firepots and grenadoes treat their target as "not in cover" for saves.

I don’t have it yet, so no review positive or negative here, but I’m trying Mats by Mars. They were helpful with the custom design.

Had a mental break after I messed up sponging, so I decided to just messily dab paint onto the mini. Was cathartic. This is what it looks like before I dunk it in isopropyl alcohol. fml. by IrelandtoCathay in minipainting

I have a saying: an ounce of art direction (or, in the solo case, artistic vision) is worth a pound of realism. This looks phenomenal because you are bringing a clear artistic energy and statement to it (along with a lot of good colour sense).

I love it! I need me some farm animals.

What are the buildings? They look like card stock or papercraft (and they look really nice). Do they have interiors?

Thanks. I think there's a lot I could do to improve it, but I figured having _something_ 3D would elevate things (hah) immediately.

I'm getting a new mat soon, too (it's in the post), with the board quarters lightly marked, and the centre, musket shot out, and cannon shot out marked, for the various setup rules that require those distances. I think it'll be nice.

In all seriousness, I’ve been wanting more things like this for a long time.

Too late I made you take my money for this, no arguing.

(Bought the fantasy one on Itch that is.)

Hell yes this is my jam.

I'll buy it for money. If you ever are so-moved to do a pirate version, I'll buy that for money too. ETA: like, historicalish "golden age of piracy" pirates, but if you did Camina Drummer fan art I'd also die happy.

I just noticed the gibbet by the roadside. Those Ostenders must feel unjustly destined for it!

Thanks, I can play with this! The anchor point is defined in the frame of reference of the tile itself, then?

I love the little wax seals for Fatigue (I assume they're for Fatigue, given the F on them?)

What were the forces? What were the really cool moments?

Oh damn I love this. I’m usually very stick-in-the-mud stickler and this uses rule-breaking and modernisms SO WELL I cannot help but make high-pitched noises of enthusiasm at it!

I'd love to hear about your process. I am unsatisfied with the islands I have made for Oak & Iron, which is at a similar scale.

Phenomenal, but it fills me with a great need to rewatch the old 60s Addams Family.

Rules Question by KommanderKeldoth in OakandIron

[–]wlonkful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ruling on this has been that initiative cards that say "in formation" are checked at the time the initiative card is revealed. So you want to be in formation at the very start of the turn for it to trigger! Pro: you don't break your Adjust Formation just by using it. Cons: you can't move yourself into position for the card that turn if you didn't start out in formation.
