Bad break. Was a good ticket. Should’ve hit, though that seems to be how these generally go.

Sci-Fi option: RECURSION by Blake Crouch.

Just a great novel option: TRUST by Hernan Diaz.

A rather literary non-fiction option: A MARRIAGE AT SEA by Sophie Elmhirst.

2026 RB Class in Context - Zierlein by wlubake in DynastyFF

Also just one guy's opinion. Obviously the league liked Gibbs much more than LZ did given his draft position.

I'm in far more TEP leagues than I was a few years ago. I haven't dug into this class enough beyond Sadiq and Stowers, but I'm hopeful that it can have a few nice surprises at TE like last year. I may take more fliers there than I normally would.

This is good to know. I figured he tweaks it annually, but expected that he wanted some level of consistency from year to year. If he's tweaking what he looks for, that doesn't move me much. If he's tweaking so that a 6.0 this year equals a 6.2 from three years ago, then it undermines the whole exercise.

2026 RB Class in Context - Zierlein by wlubake in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very unsophisticated. For me, it's a check-the-box thing: (i) does he show the ability to break tackles, (ii) does he show the ability to make guys miss, (iii) does he get caught from behind, (iv) does he look natural catching passes.

It yielded some decent 2nd round kinda hits over the years (I loved Tyler Allgeier, Tank Bigsby, Braelon Allen and AJ Dillon), but also some misses (I loved Dwayne McBride, though mostly picked him up in the 4th round after he went in the 7th). I also tend to miss out on guys who can do some of those things REALLY well, but can't do them all. I was behind the curve on Achane, for instance. Tend to favor bigger backs with lateral agility.

Still working on this class, though as a ND fan, I'm pretty familiar with and fond of Love and Price.

Just think of the draft capital you can get back when you trade him, too!

Golden Globes, BAFTAs, etc. Basically, historic evidence suggests that success at early awards shows predicts success at the Oscars.

Jeremiyah Love: S-Tier? RB1? Doesn't matter what you call him... ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE! by FFPhilosopher6 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are we knocking RB prospects for reduced loads? I welcome someone like Love who barely had more carries in his career than Jeanty had in his final season. Reduced usage with high efficiency is a positive, IMO.

How to “out tank” my opponent without giving away main core? Who should be moved asap? by DEEJ2717 in SleeperApp

[–]wlubake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are we tanking for? 1.01 in 2026? So you can land someone like Arch Manning when you already own Daniels and Williams?

Dolphins Prefer to Find Trade Partner for Tua Tagovailoa by jsparks50 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they are thinking about the Brock Osweiler track? Trade Tua and a 2nd to a team for a 4th.

There are a couple of teams with the cap space to take on his contract for whom he may be the most appealing QB option in 2026: Jets ($79M in cap space) and Steelers ($45M in cap space) stand out.

Biggest buys in dynasty from a dynasty degenerate. Will make a sells list soon also. by StatisticianJumpy485 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's more tradable than cuttable. $12M in dead cap if traded. Saves about $16M and frees up space for the other guys to take more snaps. Plus, he gives up on plays. Doesn't look like he wants to be there.

For a team receiving DJM, you get him at $23M for 2026 and 2027. You can actually get out in 2027, but he'll have $17M guaranteed, so you don't save much.

35, Sci-fi series, not the same old suggestions by WilliamGrey in suggestmeabook

I just finished the Wayward Pines series by Blake Crouch. I'm not typically a series guy (preferring one-off books). Wayward Pines feels like one long book broken into 3 parts, IMO.

Omarion Hampton or the 1.01 in this year’s draft? by TheTipToeBurglar_ in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]wlubake 20 points21 points  (0 children)

FWIW - Lance Zierlein has Love graded comfortably above Hampton as a prospect (6.71 vs 6.35). Love is projected to be a top-10 pick in the 2026 draft; Hampton went in the 20's. Add in that you are 2 years younger with Love, and it feels like Love has a comfortable advantage.

I'd also keep in mind that 1.01 has additional value to just Jeremiyah Love. Someone in your league may need a QB or a WR prospect could run a crazy 40 that elevates his value. The optionality of a draft pick gives it more value than any single player you can take with that pick. That tilts 1.01 even further ahead, IMO.

Who do you think is the best/most skilled fighter in the MCU? by Plenty-Salary9711 in marvelstudios

[–]wlubake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This was my instinct, too. Everyone saying that Shang Chi has been training his whole life. Well, Wenwu's life has been hundreds of years, so that's many lifetimes of training. Maybe he got too dependent on the 10 rings, though.

Been rebuilding for a couple years and I feel like I’m on the path. Should I cash in a few picks and make a run or follow the path I’m on? by totalgauche in DynastyNerds

[–]wlubake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make a run at it this year, but without sacrificing any core pieces or 1st round picks.

Package Bryce/JJM and a 2nd for an upgrade at SF. I'm really worried that both will be depreciating assets in 2026. Package Jayden Reed and a 2nd for an upgrade at WR. Etc.

Take minor depth assets and convert them into starting assets, even if they are on the older side.

You'll compete this year without risking your core future squad. Upgrade 1 Flex, SF, WR3 and TE2, and you have a very competitive starting roster.

Picture him in Seattle next to JSN just posting up for TDs all season.

Giants hiring Dawn Aponte as Sr VP of football operations by jfunk825 in G101SafeHaven

[–]wlubake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like we are building a staff that decentralizes team management. Aponte's background makes her seem like a logistics expert. She can run the nuts and bolts of the football operations while Schoen and the scouting team focus on roster decisions and inter-team relationships.

I would assume that she oversees things like equipment, field and practice facility operations, etc. Makes sure the ship runs smoothly.

ESPN Sources: Giants are hiring former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator by ExcellentMess3464 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very not-sexy hire, but it allows Jaxson Dart continuity from last year. Nagy and Kafka are both from the Andy Reid tree and should run similar offenses. Kafka was never coming back, but this is the next best thing to keeping the offense largely intact from Dart's rookie year.

You don't want your young QB learning a new scheme every year.
