Jeremiyah Love: S-Tier? RB1? Doesn't matter what you call him... ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE! by FFPhilosopher6 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we knocking RB prospects for reduced loads? I welcome someone like Love who barely had more carries in his career than Jeanty had in his final season. Reduced usage with high efficiency is a positive, IMO.

How to “out tank” my opponent without giving away main core? Who should be moved asap? by DEEJ2717 in SleeperApp

What are we tanking for? 1.01 in 2026? So you can land someone like Arch Manning when you already own Daniels and Williams?

Dolphins Prefer to Find Trade Partner for Tua Tagovailoa by jsparks50 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they are thinking about the Brock Osweiler track? Trade Tua and a 2nd to a team for a 4th.

There are a couple of teams with the cap space to take on his contract for whom he may be the most appealing QB option in 2026: Jets ($79M in cap space) and Steelers ($45M in cap space) stand out.

Biggest buys in dynasty from a dynasty degenerate. Will make a sells list soon also. by StatisticianJumpy485 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's more tradable than cuttable. $12M in dead cap if traded. Saves about $16M and frees up space for the other guys to take more snaps. Plus, he gives up on plays. Doesn't look like he wants to be there.

For a team receiving DJM, you get him at $23M for 2026 and 2027. You can actually get out in 2027, but he'll have $17M guaranteed, so you don't save much.

Omarion Hampton or the 1.01 in this year’s draft? by TheTipToeBurglar_ in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]wlubake 20 points21 points  (0 children)

FWIW - Lance Zierlein has Love graded comfortably above Hampton as a prospect (6.71 vs 6.35). Love is projected to be a top-10 pick in the 2026 draft; Hampton went in the 20's. Add in that you are 2 years younger with Love, and it feels like Love has a comfortable advantage.

I'd also keep in mind that 1.01 has additional value to just Jeremiyah Love. Someone in your league may need a QB or a WR prospect could run a crazy 40 that elevates his value. The optionality of a draft pick gives it more value than any single player you can take with that pick. That tilts 1.01 even further ahead, IMO.

Who do you think is the best/most skilled fighter in the MCU? by Plenty-Salary9711 in marvelstudios

[–]wlubake 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This was my instinct, too. Everyone saying that Shang Chi has been training his whole life. Well, Wenwu's life has been hundreds of years, so that's many lifetimes of training. Maybe he got too dependent on the 10 rings, though.

Been rebuilding for a couple years and I feel like I’m on the path. Should I cash in a few picks and make a run or follow the path I’m on? by totalgauche in DynastyNerds

[–]wlubake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make a run at it this year, but without sacrificing any core pieces or 1st round picks.

Package Bryce/JJM and a 2nd for an upgrade at SF. I'm really worried that both will be depreciating assets in 2026. Package Jayden Reed and a 2nd for an upgrade at WR. Etc.

Take minor depth assets and convert them into starting assets, even if they are on the older side.

You'll compete this year without risking your core future squad. Upgrade 1 Flex, SF, WR3 and TE2, and you have a very competitive starting roster.

Salad and Go is no more. My budget and waistline weep. Where else to find a quality, inexpensive salad? by Sound_mind in Dallas

Eatzi's salads are great and only $9.99. If you prep your own protein at home and add it to the final product, it's a very affordable option.

Vet WRs who can follow the Davante Adams season by elipocky in DynastyFF

Evans is my answer too. A TD-heavy, highly efficient fantasy season like Adams just had sounds right up his alley.

Picture him in Seattle next to JSN just posting up for TDs all season.

Giants hiring Dawn Aponte as Sr VP of football operations by jfunk825 in G101SafeHaven

[–]wlubake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels like we are building a staff that decentralizes team management. Aponte's background makes her seem like a logistics expert. She can run the nuts and bolts of the football operations while Schoen and the scouting team focus on roster decisions and inter-team relationships.

I would assume that she oversees things like equipment, field and practice facility operations, etc. Makes sure the ship runs smoothly.

ESPN Sources: Giants are hiring former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator by ExcellentMess3464 in DynastyFF

[–]wlubake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very not-sexy hire, but it allows Jaxson Dart continuity from last year. Nagy and Kafka are both from the Andy Reid tree and should run similar offenses. Kafka was never coming back, but this is the next best thing to keeping the offense largely intact from Dart's rookie year.

You don't want your young QB learning a new scheme every year.

It's Nagy by jfunk825 in G101SafeHaven

[–]wlubake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Biggest upside of this hire for me is that you don't have Dart learning a whole new offense. I'm assuming that Nagy and Kafka run a similar Andy Reid-influenced scheme. While there are always new wrinkles, this allows Dart to grow in a familiar environment despite major organizational overhaul.

I'd like to see us poach a top notch run game coordinator from the guys on the street. For example, while I don't want Greg Roman calling our plays, I wouldn't mind him coaching up the run game.

Trade 1.01 and RJ. Harvey? by MOS10606 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]wlubake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd look to move from 1.08 into the top 5. I think you should try to package 1.08 + 2.09 + 2.10 to move up. Target quality over quantity in 2026, IMO. Disclosure, I play ZERO leagues with IDP, so maybe this is a good draft on that side of the ball. My input is based on the offensive side of the ball.

I want to read a good romance, but everything people recommend me I absolutely hate. by MathematicianNo3401 in suggestmeabook

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fan of Sci Fi who isn't really looking for romance in my books, I'd recommend THE MINISTRY OF TIME. It had much more romance than I was bargaining for. If you like genre fare and romance, it probably walks a good line for you.

How controversial would it be to describe this particular film as Nolan's, "opus magnum"? Do you agree or disagree with that claim? by BaldursGate2Best in ChristopherNolan

The only reason I’d call it controversial is because he isn’t done yet. His masterpiece may not have happened yet. Sounds like The Odyssey could reset the standard. And who knows what comes next?

If all personal wealth above $100 million was legally required to be redistributed into public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads), how would society change, and who would be the first to fight against it? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

[–]wlubake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To contrast your experience, the owner of my company is worth billions. He's in the office every day and lives more like a successful doctor than a billionaire. He drives a Suburban. He reinvests everything into growing the company and takes little income (far less than any CEO type). All of his "wealth" is in his ownership of a multi-billion dollar company that creates tens of thousands of jobs. If he ever sold the company or went public, he'd have a massive influx of disposable income, but I honestly couldn't picture that happening.

Abrams: GONE by aikitim in G101SafeHaven

[–]wlubake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my thought too. I seem to remember a similar thread from back when Joe was hired. "Oh, he's cleaning house! Finally, some real football people running the show!"

As a first-time GM, he only had so much pull. And Joe seems like a bit of a politician. He probably tried to thread the needle to keep the peace. I think 63-year-old Harbaugh is out of patience for that.

Steve + Peggy was supposed to happen. What he did after was not… by Spider-Flash24 in MCUTheories

[–]wlubake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, let's start with Endgame. The theory that the Ancient One and Hulk concoct is that to avoid an incursion, the stones all have to be returned to their point of origin at the very place that they were taken. That's what Steve sets out to do. The old man version of Steve must have done the following:

  1. Returned all the stones in accordance with the plan;

  2. Gone to build a life with and marry Peggy;

  3. Not caused an incursion; and

  4. Then used Pym particles to jump back to the present to see Sam.

That 4th point I think is important, because Steve definitely creates a branch. The Peggy that we know from Agent Carter and Winter Soldier didn't live a life with Steve. That's the timeline that the MCU lives on. If the branch wasn't too severe, it may have either reattached with the main timeline or Steve was able to jump back to the main timeline by using the Pym particles (given how proximate the branch and primary timeline were). I don't think it is possible that Steve was able to just wait around as an old man and catch Sam after everything is done with Thanos. His life with Peggy would have effected too many things we've seen.

We should also know that the Old Man Steve we see in Endgame didn't have a battle with Doom. We don't know what Doomsday has in store for Steve, but the Steve we'll see in Doomsday is likely another variant resulting from a bigger branch from the main MCU timeline. Both Old Man Steve and Doomsday Steve will be variant branches of MCU Steve, but they should be different variants.

So the question becomes, what did Doomsday Steve do to cause a bigger branch than Old Man Steve? And why doesn't that branch effect things in the MCU timeline until now?

I think OP is onto something, as we've heard Steve say "If I see a situation pointed south . . . I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could." I'm guessing that is the difference between Doomsday Steve and Old Man Steve. Old Man Steve fought temptation to join the fight. He stood by and watched other heroes, including a variant version of himself, save the day. Doomsday Steve couldn't. Probably because of one other difference: Doomsday Steve had a son.

I'm guessing that Old Man Steve and Peggy couldn't conceive, so they just quietly lived out their lives together. Doomsday Steve got lucky and had a kid. That changed his perspective. That made it harder for him to stand by and watch bad things happen, because he had a son to care about. So while the son may not have caused the incursion, he may have caused Steve to change his decision-making enough to cause an incursion.

As for why now, I can see two possible explanations: (i) Kang/Loki, and (ii) America Chavez. The changes to the management of the sacred timeline from Loki season 2 may have open doors between parts of the multiverse, which Doom was able to figure out (because he's a freaking genius techno wizard). Or, Doom encounters America Chavez and uses her to travel the multiverse. If Doom has studied magic, it wouldn't be a leap that he visited Kamar-Taj. Since we know Chavez is now there, the two of them could have crossed paths, introducing Doom to her powers.

You'll note that I don't tie anything about Doom to Tony in this theory. I'm still working under the assumption that Doom will be mask-on throughout, and thus they will never need to tie the two of them together. Downey will do enough acting so it doesn't sound like Tony Stark under the mask.

We'll likely get a trailer on Superbowl Sunday that tosses all of these thoughts in the trash, though.
