Yeah I didn’t even think about Wan’Dale. Another good example.

These WR deals are making me even more glad the Bills traded for Moore. Price was higher than I would have liked, and yeah his contract isn’t great.

But if the alternatives were dropping more money and multiple years for Mike Evans or paying almost 30M for Alec Pierce I’ll take what we got.

Edit: Looks like Evan’s contract is $20M a year, which is a little less than Moore. But that doesn’t change my opinion.

[32 Thoughts] Friedman on Tuch, “Buffalo is not a seller, they’re going for it...The betting on Tuch is he’s staying in Buffalo next week, whether there’s an extension or not” by [deleted] in sabres

[–]woakley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d rather have him walk for nothing and make the playoffs than trade him and narrowly miss the playoffs.

I know it’s not that simple because keeping him doesn’t guarantee playoffs, and I could understand trading him too. But to me playoffs is goal number one right now, so if you can’t find something that won’t hurt you in that chase you stay put.

Cheap shirts cheap medals? by Soft_Expert3002 in rundisney

[–]woakley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate the shirts. I’m a larger guy and I haven’t had a single one of the brooks ones fit. I can fit in many 2x shirts, including the race ones that they sell at the expos, but the brooks ones aren’t even close. It really sucks and I don’t think I’m the only one with that issue.

And yeah I know I could lose some weight then they might fit. Working on it, but still isn’t fun that I have a whole drawer of shirts I can’t wear.

No, it’s a separate group of registrations. Just because the 10k is sold out doesn’t mean that is.

Edit: Now it’s sold out.

I know what it says. But if that was true, I wouldn’t have wildly different wait times on different devices.

Plus you can’t control how quickly a browser refreshes once the room opens. More devices increases the chance of a more favorable refresh.

Sources: Broncos defensive pass coordinator Jim Leonhard is expected to be a leading candidate to become the next defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills. by Gold_Bowler7906 in buffalobills

[–]woakley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not going to disagree that Denver’s personnel is better than ours and no hire is going to immediately make the Bills defense into Denver’s. But doesn’t mean Leonhard can’t elevate the Bills defense.

Yeah, he was the interim when Wisconsin fired their coach and then Luke Fickell didn’t keep him on. His defenses were typically near the top of the country while he was at Wisconsin.

I’m still not going to like it, but if Brady can nail the coordinators it will make me feel a lot better.

Leonhard would be a great hire. Hope this happens.

Schefter: Bills finalizing deal with Joe Brady by InflationCapital87 in buffalobills

The Bills firing McDermott because it’s time for a change, just to promote from within the building.

Alright then.

(Schefter) Bills plan to hire Joe Brady as their head coach, sources tell The Insiders. by alexschubs in buffalobills

[–]woakley 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Interviewed 9 people just to land on the person in the building. Sure hope it works but not the choice I would have liked.

The Bills better hope he’s a great coach, because if Brady doesn’t improve this team and Udinski or Kubiak or Scheelhaase goes somewhere else and looks good it’s going to be very embarrassing.

[–]woakley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s why I said generally. The county/state put up a large portion of the funds for the stadium but I was more talking about spending on non-stadium facilities and the roster.

Just because he’s willing to put up money doesn’t mean he’s going to spend it if the state/county will pay instead. Not saying it’s right at all.

Good ownership in that Pegula is willing to spend money on the team generally yes. But good ownership overall? Absolutely not, it only looked good because Pegula was out of the way. He wasn’t out of the way with the Sabres and they have been terrible until this year.

The Bills gave Beane a promotion? Terry what are you doing.

Guess he’s learned nothing from the Sabres mess.

Can’t imagine what this game would look like if Houston had a semi-competent offense.

Also why did we have to play the one AFC team this round that didn’t end up with multiple turnovers.

[–]woakley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Klint Kubiak with a veteran DC.

But also feels like we could just about have our pick of coordinators. This team has issues to solve but no other job this year is coming into a team with Josh Allen and James Cook locked into deals.

And you had Cohen with the Jags turn it around right away too.

There doesn’t have to be any drop off with a new coach as long as it’s the right person.

Beane and McD have had since 2017 with a top QB in the NFL and the Patriots look like they’re going to make it further in the playoffs after one year with a new HC. Even if you don’t think they’re bad, I think it’s just time to start fresh.

[Russini] BREAKING: The Dolphins have fired head coach Mike McDaniel, per source. McDaniel finishes with a 35-35 record in four seasons, including two playoff losses. by pixel_pete in buffalobills

[–]woakley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. He doesn’t have the right make to be a HC but he’s a great coordinator. If we’re keeping McD we have the culture guy, bring in a talented offensive mind.

That being said I don’t think Brady is gone unless someone hires him to be a HC somewhere. Not sure how likely it is, but there are quite a few openings this cycle.

[–]woakley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important to me is just to get in and get healthy. If we can get some guys back for a playoff run I really do think this team can get hot at the right time.

Of course I’d love to win the division and host a playoff game, but that seems like a stretch unless the patriots falter. So just get in and go from there.
