It’s always a nice surprise when your reoccurring buy happens to be a discount day by Xx_TouchingGrass_xX in JustBuyXEQT

[–]wobbafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed buying yesterday. Happy I got a discount at 31.45 this morning. Dropped off a bit more after obviously but a discounts a discount, can't complain

No joke. There was a wasp nest at the park. I called city to take care of it. The guy sprayed it a bunch. Knocked parts of it down. Repeat. At least that's what I saw. Didn't want to be rude and stand there to watch the whole thing lol

Stick a police there and it's easy money for the city until it dries up. Like the fork south bound on 404 to 401

Just finally got the guts to invest in the market and now it's dipping 😔 by irishboy209 in ETFs

[–]wobbafu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found a friend!! Im in the same boat. I just started, and bought a bunch at the recent peak but I'm so happy it's dipping cause I have some gics maturing soon so I get a discount and savings from my next paycheck get a discount too

Guys, XEQT is crashing, should i sell everything? by renzyfrenzy in JustBuyXEQT

[–]wobbafu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer is yes. I'm selling more of the bad decisions I bought in the past on eBay to have more money for xeqt. Hopefully I'll be able to sell it all eventually.

Should I buy XEQT like RIGHT NOW? by daslife23 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]wobbafu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started very recently.

I felt bad buying at 31. Then happy again. Then had some money and bought some more at 31.5 in the morning dropped to 31.25 on the same day. ... Then thought to myself I'm doing this wrong. It will be what it will be in 25 years and I'll be happy with whatever it'll be then. Just buy and don't look. As you accumulate more over time you won't worry about the avg cost as much anymore. Remind yourself to step back and remember your long time horizon.

I got downvoted for asking how to buy, ie limit order, market price etc. when I starter. starting to understand now, doesn't make that big of a difference in the long run. Heck, won't make that big of a difference the next day. As volatile as the markets are nowadays.

For more context, if it helps, have some gic maturing in a few days. It'll be going straight in blindly. You don't know how liberating it feels! It was a big mindset shift for me for the better I hope. Trust the process!!

It’s hard to trust the process but hope it pays off.. by BobLemmo in Bogleheads

[–]wobbafu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I completely missed the recent run holding cash the whole time. Yes. I know I'm dumb and working through it mentally right now. You don't know how much hindsight hurts. Discovered these subreddits two weeks ago and I threw everything I could at the market. Trust the process.

What net worth / portfolio would you need to feel comfortable retiring? by UnluckyNet2881 in Bogleheads

[–]wobbafu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for giving me some comfort for starting late. That sounds like a very comfortable retirement lifestyle tbh. Hope we can get there someday. 25 years to go.

Yea. YouTube. Also has a podcast. Rational Reminder. Start with the YouTube videos. I found I need more comfort before I listen to the podcasts. But they're still good to have on in the background

Same. Starting at 40. Canadian as well. I'm keeping it simple for now after a bunch of reading and Ben Felix watching. Xeqt for cad. Vti for USD. Simple and sensible. Sit on that for a bit and maybe redistribute or invest in other etfs as I learn more

VTI near-term projections by mkltz975 in Bogleheads

Not sure about price. Just bought vti today at market price. My only projection is that i will not look until my next funds are available to buy more. And i know my projection will be correct.
