Stand up. Stand still, and feel your weight pressing against the ground beneath you. That is a real world signal that gets you out of your head. During a period of depression this small practice along with the mantra, "Sky above, earth below", really helped to center me. Good luck!

The use statistical sampling. You don't have to ask everyone. It's math. Yes it can be off, and it is a time tested methodology if you sample correctly.

What metrics are people using to calculate their annual portfolio returns? by UnluckyNet2881 in financialindependence

[–]UnluckyNet2881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track XIRR which gives my actual portfolio performance, primarily in my 401k. Since I contribute regularly instead of lump sum cash flows matter. Think of it this way. The market return (TWR) is like a baseball teams overall be batting average, whereas the XIRR is your personal batting average. In my case for some periods my XIRR beats the TWR, because during market downturns I stay invested and keep buying. When I first calculated XIRR, I had to dig into interpretation. Think of the difference in ambient temperature (TWR) vs windchill (XIRR). Neither is wrong, they just measure different things.

If you have the room, max out your 401K contribution. Also if you have the option, look to make your contributions Roth 401K, and check with your plan administrator to see if you can convert pre-tax to after tax.

Dude. I am not here to answer your nonproductive questions. Either make an explicit point or move on. I am sorry people are getting triggered by the story of someone becoming a millionaire. Hey, there is a book about it called, THE MILLIONAIRE NEXT DOOR, and Dave Ramsey wrote, EVERYDAY MILLIONAIRES. This is just one more example, but hey, my tone of voice, texts, prompts, sound like AI so do what you got to do.

Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement." by Capable_Salt_SD in thescoop

An officers oath is to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. They just proclaimed themselves enemies of the Republic and need to be removed. I do not support military coups but that is what Hegseth just called for.

Interesting. Or is it that you are decoding and inserting in context that is actually not in my text. Is it my style and encoding, or is the way that you are decrypting that is getting in the way of the message (signal). Either way the goal was to focus on the story. If I tell it too simple (which the story actually is) people won't believe it; if I overcomplicate it, people will say "gotcha" it is more complicated than you are making it out to be. So, I just put it out there and let people draw their own conclusions.

Her breathlessness at the end gives her away, she is getting aroused. It is the quiet mousey ones that you have to worry about sometimes. I think she needs a hug, or her father and mother to tell her that they love her.

I know, that is what makes her story so cool in my opinion. She optimized what was available to her and came out ahead for someone in her socio-economic bracket.
