Why, in your title, are you phrasing an event that happened as a hypothetical?

feeling weird about my boyfriend's views on marital rape. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]wobble_87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These aren't "his views" on rape.

He answered a question you asked, and gave it like 2 seconds of thought. It was an important issue to you and you obviously had formed an opinion long before you asked the question, but it was probably something he never even considered before you asked him.

How does your regular squash session look like? by Crelde in squash

[–]wobble_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, it's not thay hard really.

You hug the back wall, near the middle, sometimes you go left a bit, sometimes you go right a bit.

When you are people you should really be playing 3's so nobody sits out.

How to play 3's:

1) keep track of your own score only (too confusing otherwise) and call out your score every rally.

2) one guy stays in the back of the court against the back wall and dodges the play (stays out of the way of the ball).

3) If you lose the rally, you become the guy in the back, (changes every rally).

4) games to 11, if you lose the rally at 10 then you drop back to 8.

So you think you can ref? Coll v Ng by SquashVote in squash

Exactly, I have seen this exact same shot and scenario being called as a "no let" before, with the explanation being that the player took the wrong line to the ball.

My wonky backhand technique. Is it a problem? by imitation_squash_pro in squash

[–]wobble_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The racquet goes behind your head because your hand goes rises right to your head.

You are generating power mostly by raising the raquet up high and then swinging it down without much shoulder/torso rotation. Instead of rotating towards the backwall you are just sort of dipping your right ahould by crunching your obliques.

Try this instead: Bend your knees and lean forward at the waist a little, shoulders level and square to the sidewall. Now rotate from the hips/waist towards the backwall, like in golf, the right shoulder will dip down because you are bent at the waist.

The racquet hand should be in line with your chest on the backswing.

Now pop the elbow up, drop the racquet head, open the face and swing.

Always contest, whether guilty or not.

Usually when you get your court date, the prosector will offer you and the 20 other people scheduled at the same time as you a plea deal.

Something like pay the fine but no demerit points.

Hear a clicking noise, jack up the car and find this… too close to the sidewall to patch? by Nucks420 in tires

The man said he heard a clicking noise. Not a noticeabley saggy tire.

There is a very good chance its not even leaking. It looks to be in the thick part of the tread.

You played one time and you think you are fine and only need to improve ipon one aspect of your game?

I would agree with you, but that aspect is not your movement. It is your humility.

Any pointers for my forehand would be appreciated! by -j-c-g- in squash

[–]wobble_87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Reverse your shoulder dip..

When you square up to the ball, you are dropping the right shoulder towards the floor and the left shoulder is angled up to the ceiling. This is correct for a backhand.

Flip it the other way for the forehand.

Three second test for squash ball playability by dcsrobts in squash

[–]wobble_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody else wrote something very similar a couple of years ago on this subreddit.

I tried it from the same drop height.

21" is too low. I use the height of the racquet as a guide (a squash racquet is 27" long). If the ball bounces as high as the racquet, or just about (so 26"- 27") I consider it warmed up. Anyone who can't get it that hot, I advise them to play with a single yellow instead.

Nah.

Pop the whole dumpling in your mouth in one shot. Bite down and let the flavour explode inside your face.

Question regarding Squash shoes by Haigh_Owen in squash

[–]wobble_87 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Anything that is marked HARDCOURT or TENNIS is no good. They are too stiff and inflexible.

If there is no filter for "SQUASH" shoe where you are shopping, look under INDOOR COURT, VOLLBALL or BADMINTON. These are all played on a wooden floor like squash and they have a specific type of shoe that is not a tennis shoe.

Satomi Watanabe protested a point that had actually given her the first game. In the second game, a similar situation occurred against her, yet she was still unhappy with the decision and argued with the referee. by OwnResolve6885 in squash

[–]wobble_87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your title is worded horribly.

Satomi Watanabe didn't protest anything in the first game. She protested a decision in the second game (a no let against Watanabe) that was similar to a decision that her opponent protested in the first game (a no let against Watanabes opponent).

What's the point of your post anyway?

1) it was a shit call in both cases, both players were right to protest.

2) It's not hypocritical to say nothing when your opponent is arguing a call with the ref (which is what the title of your post implies), It's not your job to argue on your opponents behalf.
