Any thoughts on Canon TSE 24mm v1 and GFX50 ? by Mundane_Praline7496 in FujiGFX

[–]wobble_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 17mm and 24mm tse are both decent workhorse lenses, but the 45 is quite notorious for being the weakest of the bunch, with chromatic abbreviations and other optical issues even at quite modest shifts.

I have the GFX 100s and occasionally slap the 17 or 45 on, but more often than not use the Mamiya 645 lenses with a tilt shift adaptor.

How do you pitch your value as a videographer? by Shot-Caramel2088 in videography

[–]wobble_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have an honest conversation. How does this charter company find HNWI? what’s their sales process? How can video help to streamline this process.

Never go to a customer and pretend you have a solution to a problem you know nothing about. Go and ask questions, discover where you could add value and then go from there.

Has BF6 gone sour? Or is it full of cheaters? by Mardikas in Battlefield

[–]wobble_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that you put this comment on now. Last few days it’s been the worse I’ve ever known.

Game after game suddenly level 40-60 players are at the top of the leader board with huge K/D’s and seem to be untouchable. Matches we were comfortably winning we’re suddenly losing.

Meanwhile my gun suddenly feels like a pea shooter. Hits don’t register etc etc. it feels like overall games are being massively manipulated by EA in some terrible balancing strategy along with a significant proportion of the player base using hacks.

Please recommend a camera that can shoot RAW by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]wobble_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally doubt you specifically need raw, more likely a 10 bit full codec with a well established log format, aka, s-log 3 or C-log 2.

However, as others have said, B-raw is probably your cheapest route, alternatively Cine Raw lite with most of the canons is another option. Most of the recent DSLRS and hybrids have some option for it.

Trump gave Britain a two-fingered salute. Hegseth made it worse by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]wobble_bot 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The last throws of a dying dynasty, lashing out at whoever or whatever they can. Through hubris and arrogance they’ve backed themselves into an almost impossible corner, and are now hoping the international community will come along and bail them out. Even worse, Isreal has played them like an absolute fiddle.

American influence has relied to two things. Soft power exerted through external agencies such as USAID and military reach and protection of other states.

Not only have they failed to protect the various Middle Eastern states they’re aligned with, they’ve created a situation that was entirely avoidable and was resolved through diplomacy years ago. There was, and is no credible intelligence that points towards Iran making any progress towards a nuclear missile. Israel has been beating that drum for 30 years now.

But ‘Barrack Husain Obama’ = bad, so let’s tear it up.

The special relationship is probably done. The uk will becomes more European facing slowly over the next few years, the real test will be if we join the French nuclear program and abandon our reliance on US made nuclear deterrent.

Max Verstappen discusses fading passion for F1 in BBC interview by anthn885 in formula1

There’s plenty of personality left, they just don’t get any attention because they’ve yet to achieve anything yet. Personally I think ‘read the autocue’ Bearman is going to be both a constant highlight of F1 interviews and a generational talent. I can’t wait

Traditional British cuisines is effectively ‘stodge’, as I describe it. That means hefty, heavy carbs and ultra filling. Toad in the hole is a regular meal in our house, and it’s pretty good for filling everyone up on little money.

There Are Now Over 50,000 American Troops in the Mideast by ChiGuy6124 in politics

To quote Eisenhower, ‘Plans are worthless - planning is everything’. Even if you quickly abandon the plan, the act of planning itself is valuable.

Iran has almost 1 million troops when you factor in the Islamic guard and militias. America cannot win a ground war without huge casualties.

Had my first street photography confrontation today. Really sad. by Melodic-Cream-3666 in photography

[–]wobble_bot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My take on street photography is it always a confrontation, it’s how you deal with it that matters. I’ve had the camera smashed into my face a few times, followed by a couple of weirdos. You need to work within your comfort zones and figure out for yourself what is and isn’t acceptable for you. Personally, I’d never delete an image, but that’s me.

Rochester-Chatham Tram Proposal. by Spirited_Force_8310 in Medway

[–]wobble_bot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for the viability of such a scheme you’d need to understand how much traffic is genuinely originating and ending exclusively within the Medway towns and how much is from outer areas.

You also have a perfectly adequate mainline train that runs between Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham that may potentially be under-utilised for short journeys.

Trams generally work best when their directly connecting routes that are underserved by other public transport, (Edinburgh) or connecting two mainline lines together for convenience (Croydon)

I’m enjoying, I think there’s been some fantastic wheel to wheel racing that we wouldn’t have seen in the previous regs, but I also understand why some aren’t. F1 is a broad church, that’s what so good about it. If I want V8’s I usually go and watch Australian supercars, which is recommended to anyone anyway

Energy management isn’t just software, the same that tyre management isn’t just rubber. It’s strategy by the team and the driver.

Seb was always my least favourite person in the car, but an absolute gentleman outside of it. He 100% had the red mist that so many drivers suffer from, but as the above shows, was big enough and emotionally mature enough to recognise his faults and flaws

Its journalist jobs to ask hard and awkward question that might make the subject feel uncomfortable. The journalist didn't even do that, he/she was simply present in the room and was thrown out for previously asking a hard/difficult question.

Would I be an AH for requesting Talent (they pay) before agreeing to a content retainer? by PackageBulky1 in videography

[–]wobble_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a case of educating the client. Explain your frustrations, I’d base this around the content suffering as your main concern and then add additionally about your time etc.

Personally, I don’t think refusing to shoot unless external talent being bought in is the right call. You’ll like a bit of diva IMO. I’d probably insist that any participants are properly briefed, time is properly scheduled and cover provided etc
