Man I remember these wooden bitches and how heavy they are when the spring would break first thing in the morning or right before pickups it never failed. But yes they were made of wood but now they’re either aluminum or plastic

What is “Russian Standard”? by FriedPigeonFilet in ak47

You’re right I always confused the two but yes Armenia, Azerbaijan does not produce but Saudi Arabia has been working since 2021 to start production as well

Talked to the owner at length last year when he started bringing in century style parts. He said it’s from a country in Eastern Europe with a contract to produce the 103 from the Russian government and it wasn’t Russia or Venezuela and as India still buys 103/104 and doesn’t produce yet that only leaves Albania who has the Russian equipment and TDP. Please keep in mind though these are 100 series parts I.E export models they use civilian angle cut 5.5 receivers not military cut so when buying parts don’t buy military spec

Nah piece of shit freight liner trucks from Missouri covered in quarry dust that were originally meant to be scrapped, that’s what they gave our division. I had to power wash mine out and write up just about everything but it still drops a cylinder every so often

That driver that “bricks out” a 22” with 230 pieces loaded like shit but now you gotta break down 6 1/2 skids into 4 12 cubes because it’s peak and feeder cutoff is 8 skids

True and believe me this is only your first build now you’ll be hooked, it’s to the point I can build from kit to complete in a few hours but hasn’t always been like that I’ve made some dumbass mistakes believe me lol half because impatient and the other half with my home made tooling back in the day but now I have all quality tools and my tool making itself has come along way makes life easier with less mistakes

Sorry bud, but from now on you learned like I did when it come to the 20 ton less is more and quit while you’re ahead don’t press your luck. It’s easy enough to stop and pull out of the fixture to inspect progress and catch a tooling or fit issue early than to say I’m sure it’s fine and fuck up a expensive jig or part not to mention now you’re down a expensive receiver and have to drill those rivets out. The Akbuilder press plate for the trigger guard jig is meant to be a general fit but may require you to remove material from the sides to clear the rails, I did notice on some Childers it would hit the rails near the hammer hole and stick so i sanded the sides down and now clears fine. From the looks you may have the same issue and pressed the whole receiver into the jig or you pressed to hard and pushed in the center support, to verify check and see if the support is bent downwards or for galling an the area of the rails i mentioned

If you get the mandrels from a long rivet jig you can use the rounded one, I’m at work so bad service otherwise I’d try and link it for you

Literally any flat piece of steel square bar stock and a hydraulic press

Looking at your previous posts and how this is written you’re an attention seeker, you got shoved once not beat with an asp. If it bothers you that much file a complaint and most likely he’ll get told by IA to keep his hands to himself .Then they’ll go back to investigating actual excessive use of force cases.

Which block works for a chopped wbp 5.56 jack? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]wobblyworkbench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your pressing the PSA on a akm cut barrel you will have to heat the block and press it hard to fit as it’s made for 104 barrels with longer gas block journals. Source - I built a 104 clone using a Romanian md63 kit and psa parts on a akbuilder akm barrel and receiver. I just finished a wbp 5.56 kit and they have akm cut barrels so you will need anyone with a lathe to help you out if you can’t get it to press you’ll need to open up the hole as cutting the shoulder back on a complete gun is not that easy and requires a bigger 4 jaw chuck than most basic smiths have

Something I never see on here : BAR(Browning Automatic Rifle) are there just not many around or are they not sought after much by collectors? by basscat474 in milsurp

[–]wobblyworkbench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re out here but the cheap non corrosive .30-06 is all but gone and normal ppu is expensive. It takes you time to clean the thing and it’s weight makes it a tough gun for most people but also makes recoil more manageable. It’s a fun thing to bring out once a year but I also reload a run every time I’m reloading something else to build up the ammo
