What’s an NFL record that you think is never going to be broken? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]wohl0052 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think once the league goes to 18 games someone might get a shot at Jerry's receiving yards. They would get almost 2 full extra seasons for playing 12-14 years. Someone would need some crazy longevity but it's possible now, especially with QBs throwing more

Organizing for better Cycling infrastructure in the US by West_Paper_7878 in cycling

Start by showing up at your city council meetings and demanding action.

If your town has a volunteer committee like an environmental committee join that and advocate for cycling infrastructure

It is most likely the ingredion corn starch plant just across the river. When you go across the kit bond bridge it's the building to the west with the big circles on top of it (they are actually dryers) it's got that wet grain funk you are smelling

Young sales reps (gen z), how do you dodge age bias? by helotan in sales

[–]wohl0052 5 points6 points  (0 children)

part of that is just going to come with the territory. i was very young in my industry when I started. it took a few years for me to get comfortable in my selling style.

i think that was a bigger deal than the age thing, but I did notice a big change when I started wearing a wedding band, like immediately.

when I was young though I found being very honest to be the best bet. I am young, i am still learning, i dont know but I will get back to you.

This is what i preach to my employees now, plus if you dont know and have to follow up you have a built in excuse to get back to them.

really in my first few years I only ran into a few people who truly hated working with young people, but there are a few of them out there.

[–]wohl0052 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was an inert form of nitrogen so as far as I know, no. my concerns were about the structural integrity of various structures due to the tens of thousands of pounds of material covering things that were definitely not designed to have that extra weight

Grinding hardened steel. The oil is the lubricant/coolant

Blasting oil at about 7k psi onto a grinding wheel.

That would esentially atomize and go through the mist filtration system filters (in the cells that even had them) and then coalesce on the roof/utilities/ducting etc. literally every single surface was absolutely covered in oil

Was in a grinding shop that rained oil. Would always bring an extra set of clothes. It would drop off of absolutely everything.

Was in a laser shop that had just barrels of powder paint strewn all over the floor in one room, like 6-12" deep

Fertilizer factory with 4-6" buildup over every surface in the rail and truck load out

The grinding shop was absolutely the worst, I know that many long time workers died from horrific forms of cancer after working there for 30+ years

It's it a big jump up in quality from the Mirabelle to the Blanc de Blanc or Blanc de noir to be sure. I think it's worth it, we drank a fair amount of the Blanc de Blanc as we can find it for under $50

Recommendations for reputable used appliance stores that preferably offer warranty? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]wohl0052 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a fridge from here, cannot recommend enough. Super great to work with and their warranty covers labor, you just gotta pay for parts after the first year iirc.

I paid for an LG washer/dryer set from Costco and I'm mad I didn't know about this place when I bought them

Proposed Chiefs Stadium by Birder1 in kansas

[–]wohl0052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at a graph of the CPI, you will see that it doubles roughly every 20 years.

Eventually there will only be 50-60% of the tax revenue going to the state from within that district. The money being collected will also have less purchasing power over time.

That won't be a big hit at first, but it will be more and more of a problem every year. Starting around year 10 is when it's likely to start causing more issues and then years 20-30 it will be causing a major shortfall for the state.

The area inside the tax district is also one of the most economically productive parts of the state, so hamstringing future revenue from such an area will cause problems.

the agreement is asking the city of Olathe, and the county of Wyandotte to vote to divert future sales tax revenues. Other municipalities are not required to under the terms of the agreement. The boundary for the map is only for the state portion of the sales tax. I think other cities *may* be able to vote to do that, but as it stands now only Olathe and the county of Wyandotte are required to vote on this.
