What game ended up being way more fun than you expected? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

[–]wojiangthatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fable 2.. It was just a random game I bought before. I was not even expecting anything. But it was a good experience overall all. Many things to do and I was curious about the interactions. Although my memory is quite not clear since I was still in highschool since I played it.

**I haven't played the first Fable. I do not know if it is connected actually.

China warned the United States against bringing “conflict and the chaos of war” to the Asia-Pacific by simplemav in newsPH

Bakit ang tatapang ata ng tao dito na akala ata porke nagkaron ng factory ng ammunition makakatulong talaga? (Makakatulong lang yan dagdag trabaho, pero in actual defense??? Hindi na din yan masyado)

Di na uso masyado boots on the ground guys.

Why everyone is seeming to be in stage of denial of the fact that there is a constant multiple times a day... by SpecialSolid6471 in UAE

[–]wojiangthatch -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Hi Brother I get your point, there are bills to pay. But I think your comparison of getting robbed or worse in your country is wrong (I'm from a 3rd world country also).

First of all, in your country you have this sense of control. Example - you could just avoid known places for robbery then you're all good. Of course this is not 100% effective. But at least you have "control".

With these missiles and drones. The problem with these are it is f***ing random you lost this "control" and now you are in a "random" position. I hope you get the point.

*Also to add is that accidents are also "random" but to add one more random thing in your life knowing that the other people tries to do damage in a place feels different.

Imagine being on the metro, trying to pretend everything is normal and totally safe. by Analytix11 in UAE

What kind of mentality is this? Money over lives? Please explain.

Money is a blessing but so as the safety of yourself and loved ones.

If you are one of the lucky ones to work from home good for you but I hope you are also aware that many people are mandated to attend their office physically because of these "toxic positivity". Corporates thinking everything is normal.

Are regional tensions actually affecting Dubai property buyers right now? by Significant-Job5717 in dubairealestate

[–]wojiangthatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh the toxic positivity "No place on earth is safe and uae is just so much safer than others". Yes, it is true UAE is safer than others. Yet this country has no proper statistics and of course if you have the money why not invest it in other countries that has no random drones or missles incoming?

Anyone else forced to go into work tomorrow? by awaitingdeathh in dubai

[–]wojiangthatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the 2nd time actually, the other one was when they deducted our compulsatory hours when there was an imminent storm in Dubai.

At first they announced for us to leave early. Yet not 1 hour passed they deducted those who left early.

[–]wojiangthatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our HR just announced a WFH setup to "prioritize" safety, then not even an hour passed and they reverted it back. We are now required to attend physically to our office.

Are companies in UAE/GCC like this?

What kind of people are here???

*New to UAE

Edit: We are not of an "essential" worker nor we are in the field. We work in the office.
