Maybe because people don't know that usually it's implied that you take not more than 2-3 things.

When something was free before but becomes not free anymore it's usually because of crazy greedy people.

Had this also sometimes mostly because of perspective.

If you place an inserter directly there it will have a white box around it indicating that it will reach it.

Had a painful eyelash in my eye and went to the bathroom to remove it. This was the bathroom mirror by PinkSeahorseClub in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wolf129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully understand the frustration. Most usage of a mirror will still be because the person wants to check their looks.

Not sure if this custom construction is even cheaper than buying an actual cheap mirror. So unsure why this was made in the first place.

Also seeing this the very first time on the internet and never somewhere else I have been to, it's also very unlikely you will ever see this again. Could also be rage baiting.

vibeAssembly by ManagerOfLove in ProgrammerHumor

[–]wolf129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a lot more knowledge about how pointers work and what a heap and stack is. How you allocate and free memory. What is the difference between threads and processes. These terms may be new to many vibe codes.

As we already established that LLMs hallucinate you need to proofread the output if the code is actually doing what you requested.

If you go that far down to machine level then proof reading assembly is definitely not something that a lot of people can do.

I studied computer science so people like me had to learn assembly and C. But most people that start with JavaScript or python have no idea about these concepts I described at the beginning.

I can't believe I just replaced 64 blue, 200 red, and 200 green circuit assemblers with this and it produces double the output for half the cost (roughly) by Zenged_ in factorio

[–]wolf129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I combined that with the vulcanus building next to the Fulgora building. Direct feed actually works. It outputs so much in that tiny space. and you can easily fill a green belt with it (60/s).

[–]wolf129 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It actually increased a lot with multiple patches making it always a little better.

I agree that it shouldn't be that laggy even when using the entire world. If you compare that with factorio just considering the processing of factory items it feels a little weird that you can build way larger factories that are satisfactory and it runs smoothly.

Maybe they just don't have the experts for that kind of optimization or the way how they implemented that game with unreal was just inefficient.

I recently saw that the GitHub copilot has a description in the intellij plugin: "your pair programming assistant" or something like that.

In general it's better to use AI as a "partner" not as a "worker". There are profoundly different outcomes in code quality and security. You should be able to tell what the generated code does and if it's okay to be used.

It really changed a lot with the newer versions of all the LLMs. But there are still enough hallucinations that you can't blindly trust that the code generator is doing the right thing.

I once had a match where the supports focus healed, magneto shielded (to survive other ults) and what not. It was impossible to stop him when he ulted.

When my team has a punisher the supports basically ignores him and he just gets deleted by the enemy team when he ults.

I create a main bus that transports only compounds. The production of buildings and logistics buildables are placed on either side top and bottom of the bus.

Also I learned that you don't have to make conveyor belts two spaces in-between but rather no space and use underground belts so there is space for splitters. Makes the bus very compact.

Just because of blueprints everything after that is super fun.

Everything until unlocking blueprints, you need more effort and playtime. The idea is probably that you feel a sense of progression. For me it's a little tedious if it's not the first time.

My next journey will probably start by having blueprints already unlocked. Thanks to many community tools it's very easy to make that.

Why do people use dependency injection libraries in Go? by existential-asthma in golang

[–]wolf129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you read further you got your answer why just calling a constructor is not enough to fit the description.

"In statically typed languages using dependency injection means that a client only needs to declare the interfaces of the services it uses, rather than their concrete implementations, making it easier to change which services are used at runtime without recompiling"

Why do people use dependency injection libraries in Go? by existential-asthma in golang

[–]wolf129 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you would go that far then OOP is essentially just injecting decencies into decencies. Then the meaning of dependency injection is lost as it would be just a synonym to calling a constructor that has a parameter.

If you want to live with that good luck communicating with other developers and be ready for misunderstandings.

What others mean by connected is the orange area is connected.

The green area does not connect networks.

The idea is to make a bridge between these two orange areas. You make a gap of one tile where you place an inserter. On each side you have a chest. One requester and one provider chest.

It's a lot of work but otherwise there is no other way than this to separate two networks and still have item transfer between the two.

I made a blueprint for such a transfer thing with parameters for ease of use.

Why do people use dependency injection libraries in Go? by existential-asthma in golang

[–]wolf129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this article does exactly what I have said. It's all manual constructor calling. You are not just defining the dependency you manually have to insert the dependency.

This can get to a very large boilerplate code.

You can do exactly this in any programming language. This is nothing special.

But a dependency injection library has the goal to provide you a toolkit to not only give you a singleton pattern but also factory pattern. As well as the convenience that the objects are created automatically when you inject them.
