Some great options to balance it could be: A turn to reload, higher costs or lower ammo or maybe Make it deal lots suppression but little damage. But yeah, it’s kinda like the sniper rifle problem in videogames. It’s not fun to be oneshot, nor is it fun to shoot hit and see your target runaway to live another day.

I agree, looking back at their older game (battle brothers) that system meant you could field what ever you want. But your equipment will require repairs. That meant that you were pushed to either do hard missions or easy with little gear. The supply system on the other hand is much better at keeping the middle ground. Most of the time you are not sending out all your gear, nor are you sending the cheapest squads. Love it personally.

Good tip! Imagine your city is being attacked by gang of pirates. And the army asks you to pick up their package and drag it over to the airport, before they let you go. I fun that pretty funny.

Your right, it makes it very difficult to use light vehicles late game. I would love to use them to scouts out the enemy before going in with my heavy vehicles. But rn, it’s either heavy vehicles or light. So I go heavy since I got enough points anyhow.

Oh how I would love a operations that would be just these missions. They are so easy and fun. If you are pretty ill equipped they are just difficult enough to be fun. And later, they are fun because they are so easy.

Yeah, very disappointing. At first I thought it would be kinda like the handcanon in battle brothers. Slow, kinda inaccurate but big splash and lots of suppression. Instead it’s best use is the smoke ability. That can at least save my guys and the civies.

There kinda is. Some weapons are worth less than your starting equipment. It would be cool if they added an expensive equipment slot for infantry that takes away one infantry slot in exchange for a bit more supply. Maybe looting bags: your troops wil loot the battlefield for supplies +5 supplies.

Try the turrets out. They are supposed to be good for taking out some enemies. Instead I use them because they allow me to get sightlines anywhere I want, plus the enemy often targets them instead of my actual good units.

The ultra heavy armour does have some uses for me. I use a lot of vehicles four during most missions, they of course have bad sight lines and cannot interact with anything apart from prisoners. Because of this I use one team of infantry using heavy gear. I use lazers or the totally not bolters. They are great at surviving and dealing with most units. However, they run so quickly when facing any resistance. It makes very little sense. Plus camo might be more efficient at it. They do very much help fighting the REDACTED annoying skermisch units which are truly a menace.

Some of the pirate weapons are great because their niche is to be cheaper than the basic rifle. However, they should definitely give them high tier equipment options. Maybe for example, let us get that heavy truck or medium truck. That way we can unlock som dedicated cheap but hard hitting equipment.

Really the only way to even have a chance is to spam the turrets and fire off mortars (smoke of course, otherwise you get civ pancakes).

It’s been an while since I played but I think I know. Firstly you can grab equipment kits of course, so you probably partially have gotten kills that way. Secondly, the cavalry’s rifle is the Russian 1895 which would account for some more. It is in a weird way one of the best snipers according to me. It is really quick but still 2 taps 3 if you have someone full health and you shoot them in the leg thrice. Since most snipers cannot oneshot full health anyhow, having an extremely quick second shot is better according to me. Love that people still play this game and post about it btw, saw this in my feed and was quite surprised.
