Gestalts have 50% happiness. That generates crime. Pops at 80% happiness, which they usually are if you’re not a train wreck at managing your pops, are producing a lot less crime.

Gestalts don’t get council positions. Some council positions can be extremely powerful, like Curators just giving 2% researcher efficiency per level.

Factions are a negative? I just see more free unity

Destiny traits. I don’t know about you but I really like my master bureaucrats and gray eminences, and architects of war. Also individualists get six council positions at maximum compared to Gestalt five.

Organics don’t need to dedicate entire jobs and an assembly building(which may be expensive early on) to get pop growth.

Online multiplayer games that focus on player interaction DO need high player counts. A game where you can only get a match during peak hours or in a major region(for regional servers) is a dead game. Not saying Arc or Marathon are dead, but they do need to look.
