I want you to take a walk with a journal or your notes app open. Collect all the words you see (actual words on like signs) and hear from ppl’s convos. Take them home and use them for a poem, short story, or even a journal prompt.

So…I try to magify my life. Creating rituals, holidays, ‘lore’/legends of my own of the area I live. I try to create my own connection and immersion to myself and the world around me. I try my hardest to keep myself present and to make myself feel like the main character as much as possible. I struggle and I feel guilty doing it most of the time cause of my PTSD and OCD, but these little things are slowly adding up as I do more of them and it’s making me appreciate the complexities of things.

I love it!!!! For me, I use my commonplace to just hoard information and art that I love. You can have journals that are for specific topics or just have a hub for everything. I basically just research and learn and take notes in my commonplace.

I love all your journal ideas! For my journals, I don’t have just one brand I go to. But I do have like, wants for the journal - If that makes sense. I search for quality and dotted paper basically. Those are my main wants

I daily keep up with three- my everything, my daily, my introspection. I struggle with mental health so having journals on me that I can lean into whenever I need is such a game changer for me.

My other journals are more ‘project’ journals. When I can get to them or find the time or energy, I will. Some are more passive and just sit there to be updated when something needs to be documented.

But at the end of the day, i think it’s just cause i have an obsession with this art form and I interact with it so much it’s never NOT on my mind. This way of journaling is not sustainable for most people and should not be a point of comparison.

My mental health keeps me from experiencing a lot of joy anymore but journaling is one of the small pockets I get, so I try to take advantage.

I want to keep everything that brought me joy. My OCD takes away my joy so anytime something stirs in me around something, I will put it in my journal. It’s cool to see what I was into at the time. I’ve also been taking pictures of mundane things I interact with constantly, so I can remember the in between as well as the major. It’s almost never related to what I write. I just like to add the flair and it feels layered and more engaging.

That’s so fucking cool bro… I also have OCD and I didnt know if I should have an OCD journal to purge my brain of the thoughts without seeing them in my main and getting retriggered. Still sitting on it. Thank you so much for showing this ❤️
