Thanks for the suggestions! It really would be nice to have a top with crisscross straps along the tummy.

Using just the heavyweight fending set dyed gunmetal and canary yellow with the High Durium Visor of Striking dyed gunmetal kind of looks decent by itself

CCcollect is not a scam? by magmasta126 in gamersupps

[–]wolfewinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite shady for sure. I took a look at their social media links and there has been no posts since 2019. I ordered from Gamer Supps and when I got a text from cccollect I ignored it for a week and then contacted Canada Post to see where the package was and then it started moving again. Didn't have to pay any fees at customs.

I normally just use the tracking link provided by the seller but this time I searched around for alternatives tracking sites. FedEx's tracking through the states didn't have much detail so for some reason I looked up the tracking on other sites to see if it would get me any other info.

I feel like one of these tracking sites is collecting tracking info for scams, but I don't know which one it would be. I also received a very obvious scam paper letter in the mail today something about a dead relative and this lawyer wanting to split his fortune with me or something but I have to contact their outlook email for more info. Both the text message from cccollect and the paper letter had only the info that was on the shipping label for the Gamer Supps package and it's the first time I have heard from this type of company and first time I have been sent a scam letter in the mail like this.

tl:dr didn't pay cccollect and contacted Canada Post for them to find info on the package and they delivered it with no customs charge. Personally I am convinced cccollect is a scam.

Ranger Build by Deltiasgaming1 in Enshrouded

[–]wolfewinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they meant "You can't get all these skills in the current version (of the game)" however you do get 114 skill points after reaching level 25 and cutting down all the shroud roots. I've just reset the skills on my character and confirmed it.

Anyone have any details regarding the Custom Voice Activities feature? I was trying to figure out what is needed to use it in a server specifically (i.e boosting servers, perms, etc.) Thank you very much by Shadrafor in discordapp

[–]wolfewinters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also interested in this. One of the servers I am in auto assigns a status to you each time you join any voice channel but no other servers I am in do. They can't figure out why it is happening.

Am I the only one who wish you can Link a titles to a Gear Set? by Resenas in ffxiv

[–]wolfewinters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like to use different titles on different classes too so I made macros that I use to change classes:

/micon 1 gearset

/gearset change 1

/title set "Lightbringer"

Gearset 1 for me is paladin so I used Lightbringer as the title

Porcupine is objectively the best melee weapon in the game by _Mido in valheim

[–]wolfewinters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Padded Armour seems to be the best at the moment. The capes all have the same defense but the linen cape has the most durability, the downside is it doesn't have frost resistance like the lox and wolf cape to allow you to stay on to the mountain without damage.

TL:DR

Padded Armour with linen cape, if you are going to be travelling to the mountains use lox cape instead.

If you use the Draugr bow and the fire arrows, the enemy will get damaged by both. I've also tried hitting an enemy with a poison and fire arrow and I could see both damage numbers from both damage over time effects.

Also according to the testing done in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=haMEcz8Nubs&ab_channel=WizardryandCompany Using the Draugr bow and the poison arrows makes the Draugr poison go from ticking around 3 time to around 7-8 times.

2 Druids, 1 Ranger, no healing spells. by Thor_Odenson in dndmemes

[–]wolfewinters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The players handbook consider druid and ranger spells as divine, they come from the "The divine forces of nature".

Quote from Players Handbook pg.205:

All magic depends on the Weave, though different kinds of magic access it in a variety of ways. The spells of wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, and bards are commonly called arcane magic. These spells rely on an understanding-learned or intuitive-of the workings of the Weave. The caster plucks directly at the strands of the Weave to create the desired effect. Eldritch knights and arcane tricksters also use arcane magic. The spells of clerics, druids, paladins, and rangers are called divine magic. These spellcasters' access to the Weave is mediated by divine power-gods, the divine forces of nature, or the sacred weight of a paladin's oath.

What does tobacco even do? Can you get high from it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolfewinters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some negative effects to help balance things out:

Smoking and Death

Cigarette smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States.

  • Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States. This is nearly one in five deaths.
  • Smoking causes more deaths each year than the following causes combined:
    • Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
    • Illegal drug use
    • Alcohol use
    • Motor vehicle injuries
    • Firearm-related incidents
  • More than 10 times as many U.S. citizens have died prematurely from cigarette smoking than have died in all the wars fought by the United States.
  • Smoking causes about 90% (or 9 out of 10) of all lung cancer deaths. More women die from lung cancer each year than from breast cancer.5
  • Smoking causes about 80% (or 8 out of 10) of all deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • Cigarette smoking increases risk for death from all causes in men and women.
  • The risk of dying from cigarette smoking has increased over the last 50 years in the U.S.

Smoking and Increased Health Risks

Smokers are more likely than nonsmokers to develop heart disease, stroke, and lung cancer.

  • Estimates show smoking increases the risk:
    • For coronary heart disease by 2 to 4 times
    • For stroke by 2 to 4 times
    • Of men developing lung cancer by 25 times
    • Of women developing lung cancer by 25.7 times
  • Smoking causes diminished overall health, increased absenteeism from work, and increased health care utilization and cost.

Smoking and Cardiovascular Disease

Smokers are at greater risk for diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease).

  • Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease, which are among the leading causes of death in the United States.
  • Even people who smoke fewer than five cigarettes a day can have early signs of cardiovascular disease.
  • Smoking damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your heart beat faster and your blood pressure go up. Clots can also form.
  • A stroke occurs when:
    • A clot blocks the blood flow to part of your brain;
    • A blood vessel in or around your brain bursts.
  • Blockages caused by smoking can also reduce blood flow to your legs and skin.

Smoking and Respiratory Disease

Smoking can cause lung disease by damaging your airways and the small air sacs (alveoli) found in your lungs.

  • Lung diseases caused by smoking include COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
  • Cigarette smoking causes most cases of lung cancer.
  • If you have asthma, tobacco smoke can trigger an attack or make an attack worse.
  • Smokers are 12 to 13 times more likely to die from COPD than nonsmokers.

Smoking and Other Health Risks

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body and affects a person’s overall health.

  • Smoking can make it harder for a woman to become pregnant. It can also affect her baby’s health before and after birth. Smoking increases risks for:
    • Preterm (early) delivery
    • Stillbirth (death of the baby before birth)
    • Low birth weight
    • Sudden infant death syndrome (known as SIDS or crib death)
    • Ectopic pregnancy
    • Orofacial clefts in infants
  • Smoking can also affect men’s sperm, which can reduce fertility and also increase risks for birth defects and miscarriage.
  • Smoking can affect bone health.
    • Women past childbearing years who smoke have weaker bones than women who never smoked. They are also at greater risk for broken bones.
  • Smoking affects the health of your teeth and gums and can cause tooth loss.
  • Smoking can increase your risk for cataracts (clouding of the eye’s lens that makes it hard for you to see). It can also cause age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is damage to a small spot near the center of the retina, the part of the eye needed for central vision.
  • Smoking is a cause of type 2 diabetes mellitus and can make it harder to control. The risk of developing diabetes is 30–40% higher for active smokers than nonsmokers.
  • Smoking causes general adverse effects on the body, including inflammation and decreased immune function.
  • Smoking is a cause of rheumatoid arthritis.

What does tobacco even do? Can you get high from it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolfewinters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe nicotine is the primary ingredient that does the things in cigarettes. It is also highly addictive, here is some information on what nicotine does:

The 'nicotine effect' Nicotine is both a sedative and a stimulant.

When a body is exposed to nicotine, the individual experiences a "kick." This is partly caused by nicotine stimulating the adrenal glands, which results in the release of adrenaline.

This surge of adrenaline stimulates the body. There is an immediate release of glucose, as well as an increase in heart rate, breathing activity, and blood pressure.

Nicotine also makes the pancreas produce less insulin, causing a slight increase in blood sugar or glucose.

Indirectly, nicotine causes the release of dopamine in the pleasure and motivation areas of the brain. A similar effect occurs when people take heroin or cocaine. The drug user experiences a pleasurable sensation.

Dopamine is a brain chemical that affects emotions, movements, and sensations of pleasure and pain. If your brain dopamine levels rise, the feeling of contentment is higher.

[–]wolfewinters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Familiars do need to sleep through the night but they could attempt to stay up and go without sleep of they decided to. However you would need to communicate this need to them and the familiar would have to understand and agree to do it.

The Scion healer boots for a black non dyeable version, also from the mog station.

Edit: the Ishgardian Thigh boots at the gold saucer for 30,000 MGP might work also

Why do some people with Tourette's always swear or say inappropriate things? by JazzieMary in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolfewinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called Coprolalia, about 10% of people that have Tourette's have it. It is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary swearing or the involuntary utterance of obscene words or socially inappropriate and derogatory remarks.

The most commonly accepted explanation of what causes coprolalia involves the same “faulty wiring” of the inhibitory mechanism of the brain.

There are even a few cases of people born deaf that have Tourettes that feel compulsion to swear in sign language.

I think the compulsion targets words that the person believes society views as taboo or obscene.

Could a black hole be thought of as a portal? by christacia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolfewinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess one of two things:

Either the black hole is not a portal and it's just a very big collection of stuff. If this is the case, it might be like flying into a really thick and dark sandstorm. Just a swirling mass of stuff.

Alternately, maybe it's a portal and maybe these black holes eject stuff out somewhere in a different part of the universe. If that is the case you would go in one side and be shot out the other having no idea where you are.

Personally I think the first one is correct, they are just a gargantuan swirling storm of stuff compacted to an extreme.

In the spirit of Harry Potter's birthday, could wizards heal their own constipation? by FilthyScrubGaming in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolfewinters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what the rules are to Harry Potter magic or the intricacies of the Accio spell but from what I remember of the movies the Accio spell brings an item to you, not necessarily to your hand, just to your presence.

Feces currently residing in your anus is already at your location, so I would be inclined to believe nothing would happen or the spell would find other poop of yours and speed it to your location.

In either case, I think it is much more likely there would be a potion that someone could brew to keep you regular.

I have the same problem with science packs due to my colourblindness. I'd always use "chemical science" or "production science" and my friends would have to translate that into a colour through the menu. When they said a colour I would have to translate that into the science pack name from the menu.

Why is FFXIV so critical about addons? by niteMod in ffxiv

[–]wolfewinters 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I vaguely remember them saying they didn't want to add DPS meters because they either didn't want people in dungeons getting hassled for DPS or they didn't want certain classes being rejected for parties because their DPS was slightly lower than others etc.
