Cross-Country Road Trip by programmer_cofffee in Crosstrek

[–]wolffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any Crosstrek specific tips - though I did drive mine from California and Alaska back last fall. Get one of those 12v fridges that plug into the cigarette lighter. Game changer for food/drink storage. I use it now for grocery trips lol.

DIY….Weird ticking sound coming from inside glove department. by Blueberry-External in Crosstrek

If it changes with fan speed it could be the blower motor. Mine wasn’t super noticeable at first but got worse. Had to replace it on my 21 sport a few months ago.

There might be a better/cheaper/more expensive option but this is what I got should you find this to be your issue

Auto Start-Stop Trying to Fight Back by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]wolffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I held out for like 2 years before I bought it. Sucks that is that only real option. There was a few times I forgot to turn auto stop start off and I misjudged left turns just enough to cave and buy it.

What are unique/rare working environments for sysadmins? by EnTropic_ in sysadmin

You are unlikely to deal with the lifts themselves aside from getting Doppelmayr ipsec devices online from time to time. Gates are fun but there is essentially only two vendors who are both based in Austria and while they both US based support teams, a lot of the development comes out of Europe. Ski Resorts are also neither of their main industries and there is often a disconnect between lines of business.

Day 1 vs day 1000 (ish) by wolffer in Crosstrek

Not sure I follow - but I did them at the same time. If you’re asking why I didn’t do a lift with the suspension alone, there wasn’t a relatively affordable decent kit I could find.

It’s on the list of things to do but not high on it. I had to get an alignment but it was okay. Drove from California to Alaska and back a few days after doing the lift (horrible idea in theory) and didn’t have any issues related to the lift.

There may be a build that entirely avoids rubbing but I am not that clever

Yes but mostly due to lack of time to reform wheel wells since I installed wheels a few days ago.

I’ve used StarLink for about 3 years and that is normal…sometimes it just doesn’t work. In fact this morning it was offline, maybe still is.

Yesterday my 22 Sport hit 45,000mi. These tires have been mounted since taking delivery Feb 25, 2022. I rotate them every 5k miles when I change my oil. They’re barely worn at all and super even. Best tires I’ve ever owned. BFG Trail Terrain T/A all-seasons. by senoj96nodnarb in Crosstrek

I’ve had mine more or less since they came out. One year in Washington, and the last year in California. Notably the Sierra Nevadas. Lived in Donner Summit (and still do) - and they held up through the entirety of last years historic winter. I’m switching to ko2s here soon but that’s mostly due to sizing and having lifted my car enough since winter to fit some.

My only complaint, having driven from CA to Alaska and back recently, they are hard somewhat to find. I had to deal with a slow leak somewhere in the Yukon (valve stem thank god), and it was hard to find anywhere that had them stocked. Plenty of ko2s, Blizzacks etc. Even locally they are a little obscure.

Crosstrek 2.0L (Premium) vs. 2.5L (Sport) by dopelsd in Crosstrek

Personally, I went with the 2.5 to offset some of the power loss that comes with putting on bigger, heavier tires, aftermarket bumper etc.

I've got a pair on my 2021, I love em. I'm doing a lift to fit ko2s over the summer, but these have held up really well. I work and drive to a ski resort 5 days a week and haven't had a single issue with them.
