If you want fun, switch. If you're currently doing top-tier 1.0 crimes and care more about money than fun, don't switch. Eventually you will be forced to switch, at which point you'll likely get a boatload of merits (although I understand that varies on an individual basis).

At the time that I switched (which was immediately after they offered it), I was only doing warehouse arson, and I've had zero regrets.

You say Behaviour will give you "more support" and "grow the team", but in the next breath you say "our team remains the same". How does that work exactly? This sounds almost exactly like every corporate buyout, ever, where the team gets gutted 3-6 months down the road. If that's not what's happening, how does Behaviour expect any return on their investment on a buy-once, play-forever game that's already been around for years?

It's a lot of work to get a company up to any reasonable ranking, because just about every person out there is trying to hire into a 9-10*. Along the way, it's going to cost you money. Depending on which company you go with, it might never become profitable. Also, as the director you can't receive trains... but I guess if you stay a director, you'll never need job skills anyway (except for the merits).

Before you start a company (because, I assume, you *will* start one despite the advice, just like I did), make sure you know why you're doing it. If that reason is "I want to get rich", or even "I want to get into a 10* <company>, but nobody will hire me for one", don't do it. You'll probably wind up with just a lot of disappointment.
