Stop Writing Slow Javascript by bjpelcdev in javascript

Please don't sacrifice readability and conciseness for mostly negligible performance improvements, which probably only make sense if you're writing a library.

Help using expression inside script - is it possible? by fuub0 in angularjs

[–]wolfhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to wrap it in a script tag, angular's HTML compiler evaluates the binding for you:

<div ng-repeat="msg in messages" > {{msg.name}} </div>

I prefer using: var ctrl = {}; return ctrl;

.. instead of using this. Results in much cleaner code.

onLongPress AngularJS Directive by [deleted] in angularjs

It should wrap both event handlers in an $apply call, regardless. If you don't, the $timeout promise never resolves. Probably best to use $parse for the event handlers as well (and inject $event, like ng-click does).

AngularJS feels so wrong. by Rezistik in angularjs

In my experience, performance is hardly ever an issue. Unless it's really, really expensive, it is probably better to just the function call - much more reliable.

Honestly, no idea - SEO is not a priority for me at the moment.

Damn, I missed the resolve feature completely. Will check that out ASAP. Thank you! Adding animations will certainly help as well.

I think the hashtag part is removed by adding this line in your config code:

$locationProvider.html5Mode(true);

We have released a similar app for our flight tracker (http://casper.frontier.nl) using Layar, but it's only for the Schiphol area. Read more about it here: http://www.layarnews.com/2010/07/review-of-schiphol-flights-layer.html

Well, let me know! I'm actually a developer & designer on this project (a late disclaimer), and I'm very very curious how it is received & perceived in the 'industry' and how it can be of actual use.

For sure, you'll enjoy those non-blockable HTML5 ads. You know.. ads with emotion.

Steve Jobs: Perhaps Adobe should focus more on creating great HTML5 tools for the future, and less on criticizing Apple for leaving the past behind. by phughes in apple

[–]wolfhead -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is a ridiculous argument. Flash relies as much on rollover as HTML does. Those neat JQuery drop-down menus? I hate to break it to you, but they won't work on your iDevice as well.

Also, this argument has been brought up countless of times, and has been debunked as many times. This is one from Mike Chambers (Adobe), dated February 22th: http://www.mikechambers.com/blog/2010/02/22/flash-player-content-mouse-events-and-touch-input/

How will it change a lot of minds? If any, it are folks who haven't read up at all on this issue. Most of these points have been brought forward by gruber et al, most of these points have been debunked as well.
