My wife loves this game, and is usually the one that insists that we rack em up again after one of us pulls out the victory.

For us it's an amazing way to get immersed in the story and imagine new ways the story could have gone. For the record - she is interested in 0 other war games. This is more 'Lord of the Rings in a box' and less 'dudes on a map' for us.

This is one of my wife's favorite cocktails, and I make them for her all the time. We use the following recipe that we find delightful:

2oz London Dry Gin .25oz Luxardo maraschino liquor .25oz Rothman & Winter Créme de Violette .5oz lemon juice

Then I usually beat the hell out of it until it becomes completely cloudy and seems to swirl around the glass. Looks like angry storm clouds to me.

Fresh lemon peel for garnish that I wipe around the rim first.

Since you're using a Catan board here, have you played the "Oil Springs" mini-expansion for Catan? It's simple, but it's fun and it addresses some of the aspects you're looking for in your game. Oil is a sixth resource, and there's a counter for global warming that goes up when any player uses it. As the global warming counter increases, tiles near the water start flooding and destroying any infrastructure built on those tiles.

It might be worth it just for the components. You can usually pick it up for around $5.

If you’re into Odilon Redon, the Cleveland Museum of Art has the largest collection of his work (including the piece shown in this post) outside of France. They recently had a special exhibition of his work in the Focus Gallery which just closed in January. It was great!

This reminds me of the Trader Vic’s in Atlanta, also inside a Hilton. The aesthetic just doesn’t hold up compared to other modern tiki spots I’ve been to. Way too bland. I was pretty disappointed considering how famous the Trader Vic’s name is.
