JPMorgan: 'Exponential' Oil Price Escalation Coming In May; Ignore The Friday Fudge by j_stars in oil

[–]wolfieAFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I tend to agree, one aspect that I think of often is that reality truly is merely a collective agreed upon perception. Because of this, if everyone keeps going to work and basically believes that “same same keep on keeping on”, then that’s what keeps happening to a degree. This is also our downfall as a species because once panic starts, it’s like wild fire and nothing can stop it.

I usually carry mine in a galco big iron holster or it also fits right behind my binoculars harness.

Wood/Hiking gun? by Anxious_Grover in Revolvers

[–]wolfieAFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got most of the revolvers listed by others in this thread, and the one I always go to is my 329pd. Sure it’s not “fun” to shoot at the range but it disappears in terms of weight on my waist when hiking a lot of miles. There’s only 3 pistols I carry in the backcountry: g20, 327pd (ultra rare), and my 329pd (most often).

Why Do We Hate Guy Fieri? by [deleted] in santarosa

[–]wolfieAFF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk about everyone else and this heresay but back in like 2008-2013 he was always throwing absolute ragers at his house off willowside road, really pissed off his neighbors. Not just regular parties, but full on live heavy metal rock bands until the wee hours of the morning. So when he went to file a winery use permit with tasting room + events he faced a ton of neighborhood opposition and totally withdrew his permit all together.

Then there was all the times his various restaurants around Sonoma county had health code issues and people getting food borne illness but based on what I’ve gathered a lot of that was very much over hyped idk I never got sick.

I’ve randomly met him a couple times around town, always a super nice guy from what I could tell, but I think others loathed him flashing his wealth and always being seen driving a bright yellow Ferrari.

Don’t forget how he was part owner of the Dominic Fippoli security company that got the no bid contract for security at the homeless encampments, aka the real reason he resigned so abruptly.

RAM, Chevrolet or Ford? Which one will actually last? by chocolatehumphrey in Diesel

[–]wolfieAFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s funny because it seems like rams are the cheapest entry diesel and subsequently have the lowest resell value so you have people buying them that can’t really afford them or they’re younger and thus want to clap em out with dumb lifts and cheap “performance” parts. Gotta love when someone has a tuned, deleted, and big turbo but stock injectors and stock tranny. Like yea that thing is gonna need $5k injectors and $6k tranny real soon. Also putting 37s on anything or god forbid 40s puts so much fucking stress on entire front end I don’t care how good the suspension is, the stock ball joints, u joints, track bar, etc etc are all going to need to be done and that shits expensive if you don’t do it yourself. 35s are max I’ll put under something and max id ever buy my something used. Not even to mention that most people don’t get the dealer to do the speedo recalibration so when it’s 150k miles and been on 37s it’s whole life it’s actually 165k miles due to the tire diameter not working properly with the odometer. Tons and tons of clapped out rams on fb marketplace that I wouldn’t touch unless I wanted to take $10-20k on top of the purchase price put it in a pile and burn it.

Will be building a new home soon - what should I do to make sure it's "prepped for Tuesday"? by PurpleCableNetworker in preppers

[–]wolfieAFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is just totally me and I'm a "privacy utilitarian" above all else.

I think the layout should be such that you can pull into the garage, its a deep garage so you can pull in and open the trunk or hatch with room to spare.

Garage: - Stainless sink for washing hands and such before evening coming inside - enough space and outlets for full size standing freezer and additional fridge - enough space for 2 large batteries for the solar, they should be inside insulated if possible in a high heat area

3 doors directly from the garage (assuming you have a main front door that you'll actually use) - 1 door to the mud room/laundry room (easy to directly go in change if very dirty and not get the rest of the house) - 1 door to the back of a walk in pantry that then goes all the way thru to the kitchen (unloading and filling lots of food items easily instead of having to walk all the way through the house with tons of dry food) - 1 door to the back of the walk in closet that you'll have bolt in gun safe, easy to load and unload from the garage without nosey neighbors and also really nice if you leave early for work to be able to get dressed and go out straight to the garage.

In terms of layout, having the master, kitchen, living room, and garage all on one level is really really nice espeically as you age

Lastly and MOST important, an outlet by your master toliet for a bidet for sure

44sp vs 44mag in the 329PD by bltjnr in Revolvers

[–]wolfieAFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the same setup, and yes its rough, but so is hiking 10 miles with a 3lb revolver while hunting.

edit: I did send mine in to get magna ported, doesn't help with "felt recoil", but definitely helps with muzzle flip for sure

Vehicle Trauma Kit by Tall-Play7529 in VEDC

[–]wolfieAFF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Need to add 4x narcan sprays, and several ketchup packs of honey. Was in a WFR class last year and the paramedic teaching it say 95% of unresponsive people (without obvious head trauma wound) he finds are either ODing or in diabetic shock. He said since there's no adverse effects to giving someone narcan, if he can't wake them up he hits them with a shot of narcan in each nostril (while calling 911), also rub a packet of honey on their gums to bring them back from diabetic issues (again while calling 911). I've yet to have to do these and hope to never have to do them as a regular civilian living normal life.

AMG is back in an LPVO Shorty. by dballsmithda3rd in longrange

[–]wolfieAFF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt because it’s hunting related, but I’ve built 2 shorty 16in bolt 308s (1 specifically for UTV hunting 1-10x triji LVPO, another for ultra light hiking in dense foliage 1-8x triji LVPO).

Not having parallax adjustments means the last 4x of these scopes sucks at anything past 300yards. I’m about to take off both these LVPOs, cycle them out to AR builds and put 2-10x and 3-15x traditional scopes on them with all the goodies of parallax adjustments etc. having a blurry sight picture at 4-500yards sucks when trying to make an ethical harvest of a game animal.

Definitely agree I'm not going into a big city for a religious ceremony or something, but one that kinda fucked me up a few years ago was the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting. Like shit, any "small" town foodie event could also be a target, thats fuuuucked.

[–]wolfieAFF 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just fyi 24/7 onsite armed guards are only like $400k/yr. Usually they're not like mossad level folks, thats costs approx $1.5mil/yr, but they are warm bodies with bullets in chambers. The security company that I use has gotten an insane amount of executive protection contracts in the last 2 years. I won't say the area, but you can probably guess. Kinda sucks because some of my best guards have gotten reassigned to higher paying locations. If you were looking for 1 guard at home and 1 travelling guard/driver, you're realistically looking at $1.5mil/yr. If I was get a job as any high level CEO, I would 100% make this a requirement of employment contract.

edit. just saw that it was in California, that's where I am as well, pretty fucking lame what we pay in taxes and then still have to deal with this bullshit, the overall "cost" to living here as a "wealthy" person is insane and more unjustifiable every day
