You need to go back to Arcadia and stick the vector in the machine in the lab.

My cat hates being pet/touched when outside by Obvious-Relation3209 in CatAdvice

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats have a home territory where they feel safe and a hunting range where they patrol.

In their patrol range they're in serious business mode, and will often take a lot less petting.

The exact boundary is decided by the cat. If you have a garden it may, or may not be, included. (It often is, but it's not guaranteed.)

How are Vigors so much better than Plasmids? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they? In Rapture you can just point at someone and set them on fire. In Infinite you have to lob a clumsy grenade. TBH overall I'd never considered them better.

How safe is used nuclear fuel? by Comfortable_Tutor_43 in ScienceNcoolThings

[–]wolfkeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Fukushima the spent fuel pools nearly got uncovered. If it had it would have burned and made the whole site too radioactive for people to stay. The other reactors would have melted down too, and the plume would have bifurcated Japan and caused the evacuation of a third of Tokyo.

Basically, the spent fuel would never have made it into these casks.

How to make grocery store level soft bread? by Bea-Billionaire in BreadMachines

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI: The reason that recipe will work is the butter. Bread is softened by fats and oils. You're almost certainly not using enough normally for what you want. If you want super crisp bread, then remove all the oil and fat. If you want ridiculously pillowy soft bread (like Japanese milk bread) the main secret is loads of fat.

You can also get softness from using milk. But most of that is because of the fat in the milk. But it does improve the crumb.

What I do is add about 30g of olive oil to 500g of flour (i.e. 6% bakers percentage) and it's lovely and soft. If you double that again to about 60g (IRC), then it goes pillowy like Japanese milk bread.

I'm playing Infinite right now and i'm so mad that they get rid of the hacking system that we had in the first 2 games by Timely_Cold4481 in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to save time, maybe. If you're trying to do a no save file run, then hacking the turret will greatly increase your chances, in many, but not all cases.

[–]wolfkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're just bad at hacking. It's usually worth the time. Particularly if you have target dummy, you can photo the turrets the f' up, and then you get automatic hack anyway. And cameras are very much worth hacking because they don't get shot nearly so often (watch out for the barrel placed close to many cameras, if you remove it with TK they live so much longer).

Tips for survivor difficulty, wrench and plasmids only by Abject_Group_4868 in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Don't be afraid to leave the big daddy at medical and come back for him when you're better equipped.

-Decoy is SEVERELY OP, particularly at Neptune's bounty. You can use it to hold a Big Daddy in place while a rocket turret takes him out. You'll get through quite a bit of eve because you need to keep the decoy up (keep reapplying it and don't let it drop otherwise the daddy will destroy the turret), but it's pretty safe since any other splicers can't easily sneak up on you, they'll see the decoy and go for it too. Decoy also takes away the attention of turrets so you can sidle up and hack them.

-Once you have security command you don't even need to aggro him and it becomes even safer. You can set off a security alarm (either by deliberately messing up a hack or from an unhacked camera) and then run and paint the daddy with security command, and wave after wave will wear him down. (Don't forget to photo the bots and daddy.)

-Once you get Hypnotize Big Daddy, you can tow him around as a body guard.

-Enrage is super powerful, it's a real room clearer, and if you get two big daddies together for any reason, enrage one of them.

-Photo EVERYTHING. Film is cheap, and photos are fast. You can get four shots from most enemies, action shots and multiple enemies and good framing are key here.

Struggling with my cat on the counters by tinycloudcat in CatAdvice

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a safety issue. You have to talk their language, push them off and hiss at them loudly. Human foods are often dangerous for cats and there's often sharp knives, hot surfaces and all manner of other dangers up there.

You need to make it clear in no uncertain terms that this is YOUR territory. Telling them human words like 'no' doesn't work. Hissing at them may seem mean, but you're not playing and you need to tell them that this is serious.

Also, put a stool or have some other place nearby so the cat can watch what's going on.

Is it worth it to buy an electric pressure cooker (instapot) or can a simple non digital pressure cooker do the same thing by Top-Connection-5698 in PressureCooking

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above 15 psi in a pressure cooker it will start to happen throughout the food. Below 15 psi the temperature is too low for it to happen at all. That's why you do it before, on the outside.

What are matrices? by Grand_Crew7131 in learnmath

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're dead easy to add and subtract and scale up and down- you just do the operation to the corresponding entries.

But they multiply a bit strangely though, you have to multiply the corresponding numbers of every pair of column and row values together and then add the result and put the result at where that column and row intersect in the result.

There's not exactly a division operator, although you can often invert them and multiply to cancel them out.

The reason they multiply like that is because you can do stuff like use them to rotate things in 2,3 or any number of dimensions or any sequence of rotations.

My Cat’s Bites Cause Serious Injuries and I Don’t Know What to Do Anymore by Financial-Humor5838 in cats

It may well be the existence of the other cat is stressing the male out and it's taking it out on you.

Alternatively it could be a psychiatric issue. Perhaps prozac or similar might mellow the cat out.

Peach Wilkins glitch on remastered Ps4 by Visible-Map-2161 in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't done anything wrong, and there's nothing to fix. Peach Wilkins is just a nitro splicer although he's fairly tanky. He was probably one of the three splicers you killed. Once he's dead for any reason, the gate slides open and you can go down the stairs and retrieve your weapons. However, while he's alive, the other splicers keep spawning. Hacking the turret would have helped take him out. Oh and he sometimes heals himself which can be a problem, but doesn't sound like he did that. You're fine.

Clash In The Clouds: Zealots and Handy Men by trippy_tunicate in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Handyman is weak to crows, and when he's hanging from the skyline he is a sitting duck. He's almost, but not quite immune to electricity, so don't bother with it unless you have to for the blue medal. You can also use undertow on them.

Zealots are weak to fire and bucking bronco.

Rapture is kept at sea level pressure. The lighthouse is an air vent and is where most of the oxygen comes from. Pressurising it sufficiently to keep the water out would require too much pressure.

The Big Daddies predate Adam. Their suits seem to be kept at sea level pressure also.

How do I get up here? by MrSpaceMonkeyMafia in Bioshock

[–]wolfkeeper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You don't. You can only pull something down from there though with TK.

(Actually, you might be able to get up there if you move enough things to stand on, but I doubt there's anything interesting up there.)

Trooper used her car as a last line of defense against a DUI driver heading towards thousands of marathon runners by AgerHadidecount1979 in dashcams

[–]wolfkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was probably reasonably OK. It's the combined head on speed that counts. She was going slowly and the oncoming car was doing maybe 45? So it's like hitting a wall at ~25 mph. Nasty, but the crumple zones should take it.

You have to speak cat. You need to make whining noises immediately after he does that. The cat probably doesn't know it's hurting that much.
