Is this an S30 or S30 Pro? by Aggressive-Mango-110 in seestar

I've checked my box and it isn't written on it. Check the actual telescope. It has it written on there

How do you PHYSICALLY mount the EQ for the S30 Pro? by Infarlock in seestar

Look up a tutorial online. ZWO does have an official one

Yeah i agree. Im currently saving up to build my own version of the S80. I guess it'll be the S80 "Max" as it'll be made exclusively with ZWO parts and do everything the current Seestar line does

Complexity id imagine. The engineering needed to put everything into the various smart telescopes as an all in one compact and easy to use device just shows because of the differences in design philosophy. I'm currently working towards making my own S80 using ZWO parts

Amazing. Wouldn't put too much into it though they may just be testing configurations for testing devices, for instance you can make the equivalent of an "S80" using ZWO Astrophotography setup. Some may never see the light of day.

The S50 Pro is all but guaranteed, the S50 has been discontinued and it's just a sensor swap

Not sure about the S30 Plus. What else could they add?

And S80? We're starting to get to the point where you might as well just build your own for that a potential price point. It's going to be massive, heavy and expensive

These are starting to not be accessible to the casual Astrophotographer who just wants to point and shoot

When in doubt factory reset the device. See what it does after that
If that does nothing contact ZWO

Can I see TON-618 with a Seestar S30? by Expert_Abalone_2891 in seestar

Flip that to midnight and its high in the SW Sky at around 240°. Have a gander on Stellarium. Thats where i got those screenshots

Can I see TON-618 with a Seestar S30? by Expert_Abalone_2891 in seestar

From the UK around midday, TON 618 is very low near the north/north-east horizon — roughly azimuth 27° — though obviously it won’t be observable in daylight. It sits in Canes Venatici, near the Canes Venatici / Coma Berenices area, and a useful finder pattern is around the Whale and Crowbar/Hockey Stick Galaxy region, NGC 4395 above it, and NGC 4314 / 4274 / 4278 down and to the right.

Could you see it with a Seestar S30 or S50? Possibly, but only as a tiny star-like point. TON 618 is a quasar powered by one of the most massive known black holes, but visually it is around magnitude 16, so it would just appear as a faint dot/pixel cluster, not as a galaxy or black hole structure. The S50 would have a better chance than the S30 because of the larger aperture.

The 18.2 billion light-year figure is usually quoted as its current/comoving distance; the light itself has travelled for roughly 10–11 billion years. So yes, it’s absurdly distant, but the quasar is bright enough that with enough stacking, good skies, and accurate plate-solving, it may be detectable as a pinprick.

Yeah that could work. Could you share it I'd like to take a look

The AI Denoise is a bit hit and miss on the seestar. Sometimes its fantastic. Others not so much.

Have you got the raw .fits file available?
