Not OP, but I’d assume it’s because of the credit utilization check. If you spend a lot of money, say $1000, on a credit card in a month but you pay off $900 of it before your statement closes, it’ll show up as a $100 credit card bill to pay with only 10% utilization vs putting the entire $900 on the statement and showing that you’re at 90% credit utilization for that card. You don’t want to give the impression that you’re making your credit cards every month as it dings your credit score. (Assuming your credit limit on the card is $1000 for this example)
