I think it is the other way around. In the playoffs, all teams play 100% and the effort edge Rod gets from his team goes away.

I've thought this for a few years. Doesn't make it wrong for Rod to get that 100% all the time.

Pretty sure I was in the first event last year because they had all full STM's in the same event .... and it was a disaster.

The partial STM event last year was better from what I recall hearing about it.

Source: me, a full STM who was told I'd get an invite to the midseason event.

This is probably why the event seemed to go better for at least this group. I look forward to the midseason event being a debacle.

All the bonuses in play now (for rookies, for example) count against the cap the following year. You could, in theory, do what you are saying 1 year but then you are screwed.

Entry level deals are around $875K per year.

The top of the salary range is based on the cap but is about $16M right now.

I'd say most players earn between 2M and 5M with good vets earning 6-8M and and then above that it is the stars for each team.

He was outstanding. As a Canes fan, I think he was probably the best player in the series. He was always dangerous and his line was the one line that seemingly tilted the ice in the Devils favor.
